Last weekly summary of the year 😱

Wish I could say it's an extra interesting one, but it's really just the regular stuff 😂

Music stuff!

Just a new music video from Yamada Ryosuke: Blue Noise

Gotta be honest, I prefer Yamada with hsj over his solo stuff, but this is the first song from him I haven't completely hated. So I'm sharing it!

Works were revealed for [community profile] tokuholidayspecials on Christmas! I have to wait for New Years to share what I wrote, but here are the gifts I received:
Always Looked Good in White (Gozyuger, genfic, Sumino won the first Universe War AU)
[Art] Ankle-Deep Water (Kamen Rider Kuuga, Tsubaki and Ichijou contemplate a mystery)
Takoyaki and Snow Globes (Gozyuger, Rikuo/Ryuugi fluff)

Check them out!! And leave my gifters some comments if you can! (I love all my gifts but the Kuuga art especially had me cackling)

And check out the rest of the collection too! I've finished reading through all the fandoms I'm familiar with, and there was a lot of great stuff in there this year. I had so much fun with this exchange 🥰

In other fandom things: there are still plenty of trees that need gifts over at [community profile] fandomtrees. I'm finally going to sit down today and pick out who I can gift things to.

My weekly TV reviews are here. I might not have a review post next week since everything's off for the holidays. (Or maybe I'll just wrap up my Miss Scarlet season 1 reviews that are already pre-written)

I watched two movies this past week.

The recent episodes of Ultraman Omega made me want to rewatch the Shin Ultraman movie. I've mentioned it before when I watched it the first time (I probably should write an actual review eventually). But it's still a good movie upon a rewatch! Its biggest flaw is that it feels disjointed because it's more like a series of vignettes than one overarching story, but the message is so good. I love stories about finding connection and hope.

Also, the fact that Daiki from hsj is in this movie is still really funny to me.

The other movie was the new Knives Out movie: Wake Up Dead Man

I watched this with my family because we watched the previous Knives Out movies together. I enjoyed this one, but they didn't really like it as much. We all agreed the pacing was a bit too slow. But I didn't mind that. I thought the mystery was still interesting. And it was a nice cast. If you don't like stories about religion, however, this probably isn't the one for you.

But my biggest takeaway was that I really just want to rewatch the first Knives Out movie again 😅

And finally, my brother inexplicably gifted me Kamen Rider Amazon on blu-ray for Christmas, so I've been making my way through that. It's my first Showa era series (broadcast in 1974!), and I'm loving it so far. Amazon is an absolute creature 💜 He's always howling and biting stuff 😁

I asked my brother (who knows basically nothing about toku) why he bought me this one, and he was like "I haven't seen you talk about it on twitter so I figured you haven't watched it yet" 😂 I mean... he's not wrong

Anyway, I'm working on an actual post about the show (I have about 9 episodes left to watch) so I'll spare y'all the rest of my rambles here.

Offline life: I got a little bit of vacation time for Christmas! I've spent time with my parents and brother, and then I've spent the rest of the time relaxing at home. I've been trying to catch up on reading fics! I'm also planning to restart watching Gingaman again soon (it has been months 😭)

I'm back to work this week but it ought to be a quiet one 🤞 Wishing everyone a nice week ahead! (And a happy early new year!)
