Weekly summary: May 24 - May 30, 2026

Been being lazy/resting today and actually kinda forgot about the weekly summary until just now 😅 Here we go!

TV stuff

They announced two more cast members for Ultraman Teo, though I think they'll probably just be recurring ones, not regulars. The most exciting bit is that one of them is Fukushima Rila?! I remember her from The Wolverine movie! Neat!

There was also an Ultraman livestream earlier in the week which included a trailer for Teo, but they haven't uploaded it by itself yet (or with subs). I hope we get it soon.

I'm watching some stuff right now but not reviewing them. Still finishing up The Librarians (it's so fun). My brother and I tried a nostalgic rewatch of The Weekenders yesterday, which was nice but not as fun as we remembered. So we also started watching Assassination Classroom! I've seen it before but he hasn't, so this was a lot of fun for me. I love that series a lot!

Also, I started watching DanDaDan... and I can't figure out yet if I like it or not........ but if nothing else, the animation is gorgeous. Science Saru does a fantastic job.

And I'm scrambling to watch some JFF movies before they get removed from the website on June 3. I finished watching "Confetti" this morning. I liked it. (That is my full review of it really. I liked it.)

Fic stuff:

Author reveals happened for the Tokusatsu Girls Remix exchange, so here are my two fics:
☆ Yearning to wake (Kamen Rider Zeztz, pre-relationship Baku/Nem)
☆ The only thing that stays the same (Ultraman Arc, pre-canon Sweed)

I wanted to do more treats but I ran out of time and motivation. Maybe next time!

I have not been in much of a writing mood lately, which is fine. But still annoying. I probably do need a break though.

Maybe I'll get a chance to catch up on reading this coming week.

Offline life... exhausting 😩 Or rather, I remain exhausted despite getting several nights of good sleep.

My biggest excitement this week was a brief black bear encounter while I was driving.

I also went to a local festival for work Saturday morning, which was not bad (the weather was nice) but again, exhausting. My introvert battery feels like it's at zero right now 😅 I'm not looking forward to how busy this coming week will be

But it is what it is, and I have no choice but to make it through. Wishing everyone a wonderful week ahead!

This kind of days are necessary, too! :D

I sympathise with the conflicted DanDaDan feelings haha. I eventually dropped it (I think in the following season?) but there's a lot of good and fun about it, too!

I also watched Confetti and was so desperate for a coda fic after XD There was one fic in a language I don't speak on AO3 but like as a cross-over with other JFF movies and I didn't dare try to machine translate it XD The ending was just so sweet. And I liked all the friendship bits leading to it, too, between everyone. It was great.

Rest days are very important in between two busy weeks 😵‍💫

I thought I remembered someone here mentioning DanDaDan before. It must have been you! I'm only four episodes in, so I feel like I should at least watch a few more to see if I can power through the stuff that makes me feel icky. I do love the dynamic between the leads so far. They are funny to me

Ahhh I thought about writing a post-movie fic for Confetti because the leads were so cute. But I probably won't get around to actually doing it 😞 But the movie was good! Like you, I enjoyed the friendship bits a lot. So sweet 😊
