Some seasonal questions for thefridayfive this week!

1. Do you decorate your home for different seasons and holidays?
Just Halloween and Christmas! I love the decorating aesthetics for each one, and it's just so fun to temporarily transform my home for a few months from it's usual look. In fact, I should probably start putting up my Halloween decorations tomorrow 🎃

2. Do you switch out your wardrobe for each new season?
I have enough space (and not too many clothes) so I don't have to pack away stuff for different seasons. Plus, the weather in NC is so weird sometimes that I need summer clothes in December and winter clothes in May...

3. Are you buying any new clothes for this new season?
Not planning on it!

4. What vacation plans do you have for the future?
I would love to go back to the beach again like I did last year and finally get to visit downtown Manteo again. But I don't have any plans actually set in stone yet.

5. Have you started planning for the upcoming holiday season?
...I did buy a Christmas gift this week actually. But otherwise, no.

I woke up this morning to the lovely sound of rain 🥰 All the storms had been missing us lately, so this was a pleasant surprise. Hopefully a good sign for the coming week.

It's been unseasonably hot here this past week, but this morning has brought a little bit of rain. So hopefully, the temperatures will be a little less unbearable this week.

Artsy questions from thefridayfive this week!

1. What arts or crafts do you spend time on these days?
Just some pencil drawings (colored in crayon sometimes) on rare occasions these days. I really would like to do it more frequently though because it is fun. I posted my art here on DW once if you want to see an example!
(Writing is also an art, and it's my main one, but I'll focus on other crafts for this post)

2. What arts or crafts have you stopped doing, and why?
I think it's been well over a decade since I touched my crochet stuff 😅 I think I stopped because I spent a lot of time looking at my hands while working on things (because I was a beginner and not very good), which meant that it was difficult to multitask while doing it. Like, I couldn't even watch TV while crocheting, and I just got really annoyed with it taking up my time. (As I'm writing this post now, I probably could try listening to a podcast while doing it 🤔 That wasn't something I was into back then but am now. But on the other hand... I may have to relearn how to crochet again because it's been so long 😅)

3. What new art or craft are you interested in trying?
Pops is really into woodworking and it looks so cool. But also, the saws scare me 😂 So maybe it's better to just watch him work than do it myself!

Also, I always think it would be neat to learn origami.

4. Are you more of an experimental craftsperson, or do you tend more toward the traditional?
I have no idea! But I guess since I would be a beginner at most crafts, I'd probably start out very traditional to get a better feel for them first.

5. Choose your favorite, and explain why: line shape form light color texture
Color! That's always what catches my eye first for anything. I love vibrant colors 💜 I cannot explain why other than it just sparks the serotonin in my brain for some reason.
