Weekly summary: Apr. 26 - May 2, 2026
May. 3rd, 2026 10:15 amHappy Sunday! I am sleepy, but I have a lot of things to share this week. Here we go:
I've been enjoying Three Weeks for Dreamwidth this year, even though I haven't done as much as I wanted so far. Thankfully I still have time to do things!
I joined some communities:
polyamships,
vkotd, and
voiceinmyear. I'll hopefully join a few more soon. There are also a lot of good community recs in the comments of this post.
Hooray for Dreamwidth! I enjoy being here 😊

Fic stuff!
intoabar signups will be opening today. It's a fun challenge if you like to write crossovers!
seasonsofdrabbles had fic reveals yesterday! I received three gifts:
☆ Made of Peace (an atla au featuring a good Ozai who is best friends with Bato)
☆ Twenty-Four Hour Anniversary (Star Trek Voyager, B'Elanna/Seven)
☆ Rain Puddles (Star Trek Voyager, Samantha and Naomi)
Check out all of the exchange collection here! Lots of good stuff. I wrote quite a few things this time, so I'm looking forward to author reveals on Tuesday
I have one fic rec this week... actually it's a poetry rec. I don't usually like poetry but this one was really good. It's a Yu-Gi-Oh fic about the Ishtar siblings.
I have decided to crosspost some of my fics to the
tokufemslash comm even though I ship stuff no one else there is into 😅 So the first one I did was my Minori/Sakurako fic (from KR Kuuga) from Tokushipping Week earlier this year.
Also, it's a new month, so here's another monthly writing goals post.

Music stuff! I actually have a bunch of stuff to share this time. Some new releases along with some stuff youtube rec'd me.
I stumbled across this cover of Megalovania by music ensemble Mos. I'd never heard of them before but they were fun to watch.
Yamada from hsj released a new solo song this week: Magic Music. The music video was really cute. (Inspired by old cartoons)
Super eight (formerly Kanjani8) released a concert version of aoppana which was really fun. And I also discovered that Yokoyama has his own side solo project too?? His latest song is pistol.
Another concert video from Band Maid: Super Sunshine
I also enjoyed this post from
vkotd because "Muma the Nightmare" is one of my all-time favorite Buck-tick songs. So I am now feeling nostalgic...

TV stuff!
Trekcore re-shared a 2013 interview with some makeup artists from TNG about a particular episode ("Identity Crisis"). I thought it was pretty neat!
I also enjoyed reading this ANN interview with a producer for the upcoming new Ghost in the Shell anime. I do wish I could watch this show because it sounds like it's gonna be good. Alas.
My usual weekly TV reviews are here.
Also, I finally started watching season 2 of the One Piece live action series yesterday with mom. (Hopefully we'll watch a few more episodes this afternoon! I'm loving it so far.) I decided that I'll add some episode reviews for this series to my weekly reviews next week.

For my personal reference, I wanted to save the link to this NPR Life Kit episode about taking care of plants

Offline life was busy with work which sorta burned me out by the end of the week. But I got good food at the Chamber of Commerce banquet, and I also went to a "mock" commissioners meeting where students learned about how local government works. They held a public hearing to debate whether students should use AI. And I'm happy to report that almost all of them argued against AI! It was a fun event to witness.
I was supposed to go places Saturday, but rain canceled all of that. But we're in the midst of pretty terrible drought at the moment, so I was glad for the rain.
And that's it. Wishing everyone a fantastic week ahead!

Date: 2026-05-04 02:42 am (UTC)OOOH omg I remember seeing this Megalovania cover on Tiktok last year, thank you for sharing it here!! I love how they even have choreography lol.
I hope this week is less hectic for you, and hooray for most people in your meeting agreeing that students should Not use AI! A fraction of hope for humanity has been restored.
