It was not a good week for sleep 😩 I feel sorta like I've been in a daze the whole week, but I also somehow managed to write a lot of stuff too?? Weird how that works.

Anyway, a very link-heavy summary below:

Music stuff!

I guess the holiday lull is over because everyone is finally releasing new music again!

Band Maid has a new song Zen for a currently airing anime. As with most Band Maid songs, this one is nice.

East of Eden also released Shooting Star this week. I like that they're pulling off a heist in the music video!

My favorite little detective series on PBS is back for season 5! Although it's just called "Miss Scarlet" now instead of "and the Duke"

I posted a rec for Ouran High School Host Club over at tv_talk's rec fest this week. My comment is under the comedy recs. I meant to rec some stuff for other days too but waves hand at aforementioned sleep deprivation this week.

Anyway, there's a nice variety of recs to check out over there!

Challenge 7 was to put together a wishlist, and I got some lovely responses for that 🥰

Challenge 8 was to write an primer or something like it for a fandom, character, ship, etc. So I wrote all about some Japanese bands I love!

I may end up skipping #9 and #10 depending on how I feel this week. But really, what I want to do is catch up on reading/commenting on other people's posts. My brain has just been occupied elsewhere...

Okay, let's be honest, my brain is actually 99 percent Ultraman Arc right now, thanks to the series finale that just aired. (More on that in a moment)

But first, a special diary entry from Shu this week. (Takes place after episode 20). I swear, it's impossible for me NOT to ship him and Yuma.

I also wrote a short little fluff fic earlier this week for them: Evening tea (it was originally for writetomyheart so you can also read it there)

I was sorta afraid the final episode was gonna break my heart, so I had to write some fluff while I could 😅

But actually, the last episode was fantastic! This series really committed to its imagination theme, and stuck the landing. I have so much to say about it, but I'll save it for whenever I get back to my episode review posts (...eventually)

For now, my brain only wants to write Arc fic, so I'm letting the whims win 😂 I worked on two different ones all day yesterday! And I'll probably write more today. Don't know when I'll be posting any of it (I also gotta finish the whump fic but now seems like a bad time to post it lmao), but I'm definitely having fun exploring all these ideas I have 🥰

(I also wanna catch up reading Arc fics, but I think I'm gonna have to wait until my brain switches back out of hardcore writing mode lol)

fandomtrees reveals were yesterday! I received some lovely Gundam IBO and YYH gifts here 🥰

And (miraculously) I did manage to write one gift fic (even though I wanted to write more)

Lastly, nothing too exciting happening in offline life right now, other than bracing for the bitter cold this coming week and another potential snowstorm. This one would make dealing with work more inconvenient though, so I'm kinda hoping it doesn't happen. (But on the other hand, if the temperatures aren't going to get above freezing, I feel like we should at least get snow as a tradeoff!)

I'm ready to skip ahead to pleasant warm springtime weather please 😭
