Gingaman! (Episodes 15-26)

Continuing my Gingaman watch, and this batch of episodes was really good! (It's already superior to Lost Galaxy, in my humble opinion)
Since my thoughts are slightly spoilery this time, they're all under the cut:
☆ I really love whenever Hayate puts his hair up in a little ponytail 👀 it's cute! He is really growing on me as a favorite character too.
☆ fascinated to learn that Black Knight lost his younger brother here, but in Lost Galaxy, it was his son. Why would they change that? (Thematically, the Gingaman version makes more sense for both series)
☆ the moral of episode 21 was "don't be a picky eater!!" (How many tomatoes were harmed in the making of this episode? 😂)
☆ I liked the Gingaman version of "Yellow and Pink are fighting" (episode 22) over the Lost Galaxy version of that plot (LG episode 12), mostly because it makes more sense than the Lost Galaxy version. (also maybe I ship Hikaru and Saya a little now?)
☆ overall, I really enjoyed the whole Lights of Ginga search arc and Budoh as the villain in charge. It was a lot more fun and less aimless than the first arc with Sambash as the villain.
☆ I also liked that Ryouma and Saya both got to acknowledge how much they miss Hyuuga a few times in this stretch of episodes before Hyuuga returns. They didn't get to do that in the earlier episodes
☆ I'm interested to see how Hyuuga's return will compare to Mike's return in Lost Galaxy.
☆ Hyuuga appreciates a good pun! Me too 🤝😂 Yuuta's dad is an underrated character
☆ lastly, the talking tree is still so funny, I cannot take him seriously
☆ standout episodes: episode 15 (the one where Hikaru swallows a bomb and gets the hiccups!!), episodes 17-19 (Black Knight's introduction arc); episode 21 (the tomato episode 😂); episode 25 (Black Knight's sacrifice)

Date: 2025-09-11 12:51 am (UTC)Hayate's ponytail is so cute! He ended up being my favorite of the team. I do have a tendency to really like the green rangers. (Gokaiger, Gozyuger, etc) XD Budoh is also a good villain and his arc felt a lot more structured, even if I liked Sambash. (Since he's played by a favorite Seiyuu of mine.)
I love Hyuuga's appreciation of puns! I also agree with Yuuta's dad being underrated. There's a great episode he has later on I'm excited to hear your thoughts on. The Black Knight's arc as a whole was also a standout part of the show for me personally.

Date: 2025-09-11 05:01 pm (UTC)In my limited sentai experience, greens do tend to be pretty great. I can see why you like them! Sambash was a fun character but his plans were terrible 😂 I'll have to look up his seiyuu and see if I recognize him XD
Excited to learn that Yuuta's dad has a good upcoming episode 👀!! I'm surprised the Black Knight's arc was so short. They really packed a lot into just a few episodes
