Weekly summary: Aug. 3 - Aug. 9, 2025

alchemicinkI have been so exhausted this week! Maybe it's just because I'm finally catching up on all the sleep I've missed in the past year? 😂
Anyway, just a couple of things to share this week:
Probably no one here but me enjoys North Carolina folklore 😅 but I'm sharing anyway. I stumbled across this podcast episode from WUNC about the Devil's Tramping Ground. Which is basically just a patch of bare dirt where nothing grows, but spooky stories have popped up about it for decades, so now it's kind of a popular statewide legend. (I have never visited since this isn't the part of the state I live in). I thought this podcast about it was a quick interesting listen (it's about 18 minutes long)

Didn't think I'd get to share any more Ultraman Arc things since everything's wrapped up now, but I do!! Apparently a bunch of actors from different Ultra series got to design t-shirts for the Tsuburaya summer con, and Totsuka Yuki (the actor for Yuma) shared his on Twitter here this week.
I'm both baffled and delighted by the design 😂 (if you can't see it, it's Ultraman Arc with a leek [or just a big green onion? I'm not sure which actually] on his head... for some inexplicable reason. Yuki why 😂😂😂)
This inspired a bunch of silly "Negitraman Arc" fanart this week, which was also delightful. My favorite was this bit of animation of it in the style of the old Loituma Girl meme 😂😂😂

Made a post earlier this week about listening to the Braving the Elements atla podcast again this week. It's very fun.
I'm gonna probably end up inspired to write atla fic again soon thanks to it

And... that's it, really. Offline life was uneventful. Mostly just raining and unseasonably cool. But heat and sunshine return this week 😠oh well.
