I'm "braving the elements" again
Aug. 7th, 2025 07:39 pmI have a bad habit of getting close to finishing something or getting caught up with something, and then taking an excessively long break from it instead. Mostly this is with TV shows, but also I did this with a podcast I was really enjoying too.
This is all a long-winded way to say that I took a break from listening to the Braving the Elements podcast like over a year ago π and I finally picked it back up again this week. I don't know why I waited so long. This podcast is so fun!
It's an Avatar the Last Airbender/Legend of Korra podcast hosted by Janet Varney (voice of Korra) and Dante Basco (voice of Zuko). They alternate between recapping episodes of the series and interviewing a wide variety of people (from production people to voice actors to fans). It's always surprisingly insightful, and Dante Basco is funny enough that I cackle at least once per episode. I'm in the middle of their journey through season three of ATLA right now. The episode I listened to this evening was an interview with creator Bryan Konietzko about character design. Neat!
I recommend this podcast if you like ATLA and also hearing interesting behind the scenes stories about animation production.
(I apologize for the corny title to this post π)
