Weekly summary: July 27 - Aug. 2, 2025

alchemicinkFor the past week or so, I keep waking up around 5 or 5:30am ish. Which is annoying since my alarm doesn't go off until 6:30. But on the bright side, I'm finally sleeping more at night. So that's a win 🥳
And today, waking up early means I got to write this post early too lol
Most of this week's summary is about writing fic, since I actually had some time to devote to it again.
I posted a Gozyuger drabble to![[community profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/community.png)
toku100challenge. It's just a little character study for Rikuo but I like how it turned out.
(Since I posted that, I also updated my post of toku100 fills. I'm still working my way through the first table 😅 but hopefully more soon!)
It was also my shiritori turn over atwritetomyheart, so I threw together a quick YYH snippet featuring Yusuke & Kuwabara.
Of course, a new month also means that I put together my usual monthly writing goals. I feel pretty good about them, especially since I won't have a big work project this month to distract me from fun writing. (Hopefully)

The annual ao3 top 100 ship stats were posted this week. I'm always fascinated by this every year. (I do love digging through stats like a nerd lol)
It was exciting to see a femslash ship at number 3 this year! (Not one I'm familiar with though since I haven't seen Arcane). But it's still disappointing that there are still less than 10 femslash ships in the whole 100. And even more disappointing to me is the lack of Black characters, particularly on the second list. (But I think the variety of other POC characters who are on these lists is nice.)
Looking at these stats every year just makes me more inspired to write more women and POC. I mean, I pretty much have been already trying to do that anyway the past couple of years, but I'm more intentional about it whenever I see the list every year 😅 These are characters that I like. So why wouldn't I write them?
If anyone else checks out the stats, I'd be curious to know what trends and other data stand out to you!

Made my review post about my weekly shows here. "10 things I want to do before turning 40" was definitely my favorite this week! (Didn't mention it in my post but I've watched the episode 3 times now 😂)
I'm having fun writing these posts each week (I still need to come up with some sort of title for them tho lol)

Lastly, it was an uneventful week in offline life. But that was nice because I needed a break to recharge. (It was also too hot to do anything lol, but we're getting a nice break from the heat this coming week.) My only regret is that I've been neglecting my garden. Hopefully I can get back to it and save it this week. We'll find out soon how resilient my plants are.
