Friday Five answers (5/29/26)
May. 29th, 2026 12:52 pmA food-related batch of questions for
thefridayfive!
1. In an average week, how many nights do you eat home-cooked dinners?
I'd say at least half, but usually probably more than that. I try to cook as much as possible, so I'll have leftovers for lunch the next day. But sometimes it depends on whether I have evening meetings that week.
2. Do you plan your meals out in advance, or just wing it?
Gotta plan it out! I'm not a great cook, so I'm still pretty bad at winging it right now.
3. How many nights per week do you eat out or order food delivered?
Well I never get food delivered because I live in the middle of nowhere and that's not available 😂 but I do occasionally buy dinner on my way home from work (maybe once every other week) and sometimes I get invited to my parents for dinner too.
4. Do you keep a stock of nonperishable foods from which you could whip up a meal or two if you needed to?
I have lot of pasta and rice...
5. Have you ever tried preparing meals for the week all at once, say, on the weekend?
Not for the full week, but occasionally I'll make a big batch of something like Japanese curry on Sundays, and then have that for lunch for the next several days. I usually run out by Wednesday/Thursday though, and I still have to come up with dinner those days too. But it is nice on occasion to have fewer meals to worry about that week.
