Challenge #7
Make a list of fannish and/or creative resources.
I wasn't quite sure if I'd have anything to share, but I went through my bookmarks and dug up a few things that might be helpful to someone out there (I hope!)
This tumblr post hasn't been updated in years but it's an extremely comprehensive masterlist of AU ideas and prompts. I browse it sometimes when I have certain characters in mind to write, but no ideas on what kind of story to put them in.
I like to use this guide to html whenever I want to add some special formatting to my fics on ao3 (like adding headers, etc)
If you're in a Japanese-based fandom and need some language learning resources, I think Tofugu has a lot to peruse. And Jisho is my go-to dictionary. I like that I can look up kanji by radicals, which has been incredibly useful for me over the years.
Specifically for Star Trek fandom, everyone probably already knows about Memory Alpha, but it's worth sharing anyway. Need the name of an obscure alien alcohol that was only mentioned once? It's there. Can't remember the technical name for some piece of equipment. Yep, they've got that too. For a fic once, I needed a list of every time Voyager called for an "intruder alert" for a throwaway joke and, you guessed it, Memory Alpha had it!
Also, the first time we collabed on a podfic together,
Lastly, I'm not sure how much this counts as a "resource" but I really enjoy the Braving the Elements podcast. It's all about Avatar the Last Airbender, and is hosted by Janet Varney (the voice of Korra) and Dante Basco (the voice of Zuko). They typically alternate between cast/crew interviews and episode recaps. Sometimes they mix it up with other things too. I've enjoyed getting a look behind the scenes on a lot of the series, and also considering the episodes from a different perspective. (Which usually inspires me to start thinking about fic ideas, hence why I included it on this list)
