Not a lot going on this past week. Work was very busy to do much else! But I still have a few things to talk about and share. Let's dive in~

Perhaps the most exciting event of the week was the temporary AO3 outage. It was minorly inconvenient to not be able to access the website for about a day, but in the grand scheme of things, not that big of a deal to me. My biggest worry was that I wouldn't get to sign up for Seasons Of Drabbles, but in the end, I did get to sign up after all.

I'm glad the volunteers were able to put safeguards into place to stop the cyberattacks on the website, but seeing everyone's reaction to the outage frankly was really annoying to me. Maybe this is just the way my brain is wired, but I don't understand being so over-the-top dramatic about a website. Don't these people have other things to do in life than cry about not being able to access a fiction archive? I mean, I have a lot of stuff archived there too, but not being able to access it for a day is not the end of the world. (And even if it had been longer, that would have been fine too.)

I'm probably not explaining myself well but I find the tendency to place people and things on pedestals very off-putting... and even moreso when it's just a website. (This is actually why I have a hard time with a lot of fandoms tbh. I just don't engage with stuff that way.)

Also, there was a staggering lack of reading comprehension in regards to some of the ao3 status updates, and I wonder how people who can't read even enjoy ao3 on a regular basis...

But that's enough of that topic for now. Moving on!

Posted some thoughts on crossover fics for Sunshine Challenge #3. I wanted to get my post for #4 up too, but by the end of the week, I was just too tired for it. I'll catch up soon! I've really enjoyed reading other people's posts so far and there's still more of those I want to check out.

Music time!

Another song from HSJ's 15th anniversary concert: sandersonia. I do really like this song! Plus, fun hat for Takaki!

Wagakki Band has a new song (The Beast) being used as an anime theme. I'm not familiar with the anime it's for, but I really like the song. The video isn't bad too, but there's not enough Asa in it! (They play bass) (The video also has English subtitles available!)

Also, Hanabie is back with a new exciting single. I have no idea what's happening here with all the gyaru, but it looks fun! (English subtitles available!)

I did some cooking this week that I was really proud of, especially some new recipes. Both were rather simple, but turned out well.

First was this cold curry udon. I was able to use some veggies from mine and my parent's gardens, which was a nice bonus!

The other one was this egg and cheese sandwich that I will definitely be making a lot in the future! Extremely simple but I'd never have thought of it on my own.

I didn't make this myself, but I enjoyed watching this watermelon dessert video. (It was the kind of week where I needed to zone out watching baking videos)

And since I mentioned the garden, here's a little update: the downside is that the weeds are getting unmanageable 😬 but the upside is that I'm starting to get peppers, tomatoes, and okra! I might not get many tomatoes, but it's better than nothing!

I've been rewatching season one of G-witch this past week, so it'll be fresh in my mind when I start season 2. I definitely find the plot a lot easier to understand, especially the corporate politics, on a second watch. I still think the first few episodes lag a little but the rest of the season is very engaging in my opinion. There's a part in episode 11 where Suletta gets really down because she feels like she's not contributing enough to be useful and her friends are only tolerating her. As someone with some social anxiety, this was especially relatable. And it was satisfying to see that plot point be resolved.

They've finally made season 2 accessible on YouTube where I live, so I'm excited to finally start watching each week! I'm ready to read and write tons of sulemio fic 😁

Wishing everyone a super fantastic week ahead!
