Weekly summary: July 2 - July 8, 2023
Jul. 9th, 2023 11:27 amThanks to the July 4th holiday and a vacation day (!) this past week, I had some extra time to get some things done. So this is a pretty busy weekly summary. Let's get to it!
I started doing the Sunshine Challenge, which has been a lot of fun so far. Check out my posts for prompts one and two if you missed them!

At the beginning of the week, I finished reading this fun regency AU fic for Zutara (apparently I can only read Zutara these days if it's an AU). Anyway, the writing is really a great imitation of the style of that era, and there are a ton of fun moments where you'll want to grab the characters by their shoulders and yell "stop being an idiot!" 😁
I also want to recommend this lovely little fic by Meg. It's Bakugou and Tokoyami getting a chance to talk post-Kamino. Genfic is great!
I probably won't get much chance to read this week since I'm working on a lot of stuff at work and also trying to finish writing my Pod_Together fic.
And speaking of writing, signups for the next round of Seasons of Drabbles open on July 9 and run through July 16. I had so much fun last time that I'm gonna join again. For more information, visit this post!

I watched the first episode of J-drama Rhythm, and shared some thoughts in this post. (In hindsight, this is what I should have done for Ousasa too. Oh well!)

A few music recs!
Aina the End gave us one more song for G-witch, and it was used as an insert song for the final episode, I believe. This one was nice but a little too mellow for me
Youtube decided to rec me a News performance, which normally I would ignore because I'm not into Johnnys groups other than hsj these days, but the song was Weeeek so I was feeling nostalgic. It's weird seeing the group as only three people now, but this was a fun performance. Their outfits made them look like they'd just escaped from prison tho...
Here's another song from the new Gacharic Spin album this week. It's not bad!
Lastly, the weekly hsj video was Koi wo Surunda. I can't tell you anything about the song because I was too distracted by their ugly ruffle-y outfits 😂 their stylists hate them and I'll never be convinced otherwise

Here's a nice thing I saw this week: there's a field behind my house and sometimes deer are hanging around out there. On Wednesday, I happened to see a doe (mama deer) and two fawns (baby deer). The babies were prancing around, having a good time, while the mom was supervising and eating. I don't get to see fawns often, so it was super cute! A storm arrived a few minutes later, and so they eventually retreated back to the woods, but just witnessing that brought me a lot of joy.
And then it must have been my lucky week, because I was walking behind the office on Friday, and I saw ANOTHER doe and two fawns!! There's a little wooded patch behind the office, but I rarely see anything other than birds and our feral cats. What a cool thing to experience twice in one week.
On that note, that's all for this summary post. Wishing everyone a fantastic week ahead!
