Weekly summary: Feb. 16 - Feb. 22, 2025

It's been one of those up and down weeks. Things haven't been bad but I've also had a mini depressive episode knocking at my door the whole time. I've mostly managed to keep it away so far, and Saturday was a really nice day so that helped too.
Anyway, here's everything else I have to share:
Season 5 of Miss Scarlet wrapped up on Sunday. My thoughts on the finale are here.
We also have official renewal news for season 6 🥳!! I'm a little disappointed that Evan McCabe (Fitzroy) isn't coming back (he apparently has a schedule conflict with other work) but on the bright side, Ansu Kabia (Moses) will be making his first appearance again since season 3!! I'm not gonna get my hopes up that he'll be present for more than one or two episodes, but I'll be happy to see him again regardless. Moses is a very fun character.

Continuing my Jetman watch! I've enjoyed it all so far, and am looking forward to watching this week's two episodes sometime today hopefully!
***
Music stuff!
Things have been so quiet lately with all my usual bands that I've been listening to the One Piece Live Action series soundtrack a lot recently 😅 it's pretty good (repetitive, but good)
But I do have two other things to share this week!
A new song from East of Eden: Darkside Lotus
I'm not entirely sure I like the song yet. It feels like a mashup of several songs? Maybe it'll grow on me?
Band Maid released an official live version of Shambles which opens with a fantastic drum solo and then a bass & guitar musical interlude. So good!

In case you missed it, my Halfamoon masterpost for this year is here

I posted a new Ultraman Arc fic this week: A life in your hands (pre-canon, Rution POV on k-day)
I'm really proud of this story! I enjoyed writing and editing it a lot. Unfortunately, posting fics continues to make me feel really depressed lately, so I think I'm gonna post one more really self-indulgent Arc fic for my birthday on Tuesday, and then take a break. I'll be focusing on writing for the next few months (because I am still enjoying that part) but not posting any of it to ao3 right away.
I can't see any other solution right now that will save my mental health 😩 In my decade+ of fic writing, I've never had this problem before. It's very frustrating.
But nevertheless, we persist.

Speaking of Ultraman Arc, I finally posted my resource post this week. I put it together mainly so I could keep up with everything and have references for fanfic purposes. But I hope other people find it useful too. (Though I don't think more than two people will actually see it 😅)
***
I was trying to decide on something to watch this week, but couldn't settle on anything, so I've just ended up watching "Journeys in Japan" on YouTube again from the NHK World channel. I enjoy travel shows quite a bit and getting to learn more about different places.

Lastly, offline life. As I mentioned last week, we were supposed to get some snow. And we sure did! It started snowing Wednesday morning and didn't stop until after midnight. And then it snowed again on Thursday too. I worked from home Wednesday through Friday, which was nice.
But I'm really hoping this was the last snow of the season because I'm tired of this!! 🤞
I did get out of the house Saturday because my brother took me to an NC State basketball game to celebrate my birthday a little early. The team has been doing pretty bad lately, so we were kinda wary about how the game would go, but then... they won the game?!?! It was great!! We had a good time. Even the halftime show was fun (it was a guy doing gymnastics with a giant wheel thing, and it was so cool).
Afterwards, my brother and I had a nice dinner on our way back home.
So Saturday was a good day overall.
Today I'm kinda depressed again, but maybe I'll feel better after eating some lunch. That's it for this week's summary. Wishing everyone a fabulous week ahead!
