Ultraman Arc resource post
Feb. 21st, 2025 08:27 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
I wanted to put together a sort of resource post for Ultraman Arc-related stuff, mostly so I don't have to dig around through my weekly summaries for the links to different things. But hopefully it might be useful for other people too.
I can't guarantee all links will always remain accessible (especially YouTube links unfortunately), so feel free to let me know if any of these become deadlinks and I will update accordingly.
Anyway, a nice hodgepodge of stuff below:
Episode playlists
The series is currently available on YouTube to watch. (I don't think it's currently region-locked but I have no way of checking for sure)
β English dub (episodes are still currently out of order, as of the date I'm posting this π)
β Original Japanese with multilanguage subs (episodes are currently in reverse order, as of the date I'm posting this)
Ishido Shu's diary entries
As a supplement to each episode, Tsuburaya released these fun diary entries written from Ishido Shu's perspective. They were translated into English by the staff at Ultraman Connection.
β Episodes 1-3
β Episodes 4-5
β Episode 6
β Episode 7
β Episode 8
β Episode 9
β Episode 10
β Episode 11
β Episode 12
β Episode 13
β Episodes 14-15
β Special entry (set between episodes 15 & 16)
β Episode 16
β Episode 17
β Episode 18
β Episode 19
β Episode 20
β Episode 21
β Episode 22
β Episode 23
β Special entry (set after episode 20, but refers to events from episodes 14-15)
β Episode 24 (but is actually an entry set between episodes 22 and 23)
β Episode 25 (final entry)
Exercise dance videos
For a brief time, the cast took turns each week doing a fun little exercise dance to the opening song ("arc jump'n to the sky" by access). Clearly this is for kids, but I find it a lot of fun too π€
The individual videos are no longer accessible (at least to me here in the United States) but there's a nice compilation which I will include in the links. None of the videos, however, include English subtitles.
β Yuma and Youpi teach you the exercise dance steps
β The cast compilation
Personally, I think Nishi-san's is the funniest of all. He's grinning the entire time, and ends with a t-rex pose (yes, very likely a reference to when he was in Abaranger)
Other YouTube videos
Just a few other videos from Tsuburaya's channel
β Series trailer (available with Japanese or English audio)
β Yuma's Arc Navi (English subtitles available)
β An interview event with the casts of Arc and Blazar (no English subtitles available) (For reference, Nishi-san doing his Abaranger henshin pose is at timestamp 39:39)
Movie info
"Ultraman Arc the Movie: The Clash of Light and Evil" was released in Japan on Feb. 21, 2025
β Movie Trailer (English subtitles available, but they don't translate onscreen Japanese text)
β More official info on the movie including a plot overview and cast list (could be considered kinda spoilery)
β Movie premiere report (article is in Japanese, but Google Translate doesn't do too bad here)
β Youtube interview with Mizuno Miki (no English subtitles available)
The Tsuburaya website says there will be a global release of the movie, but no word on when or where that'll be yet (as of posting this).
Miscellaneous things
Just a few other things that could be useful in the future or were just interesting/funny to me.
β info on Arc's Saturn Armor (via Ultraman Connection)
β Funny tweet from the English dub ADR director (Rawly Pickens) about Biorno's name π
β tweet from episode 23 director Koshi Tomonobu talking about how Yuma's transformation in that episode took about 11 takes and Yuki accidentally broke the prop (tweet is in Japanese)
β tweet from episode 22 director Koshi Tomonobu about the influence of Rene Magritte's art on this set design (tweet is in Japanese)
β early info about the series before it aired
β Analysis of kaiju Leodo (via Ultraman Connection)
β Analysis of kaiju Shagong (via Ultraman Connection)
β interview with series director Tsujimoto Takanori and actors Totsuka Yuki and Kaneta Sho (article is in Japanese, but generally readable with Google translate)
Meta essays/Fan analysis/Fan creations/etc
Please feel free to link me things (especially meta) you think belong in this section
β Tweet thread of the series with some cool details and analysis
β Fanfic on Ao3
β Ultraman Arc tag on
tokurecs
(More to be added later) (hopefully)
