December is just flying by. I caught myself thinking a few times this week that it was still November?? But we're actually halfway through December. What the heck!
Anyway, things to share. Let's get to it!
Music stuff!
Just happened to stumble across a new song by Hanabie. A fun one, as they usually are with this band! This song is about personality types and tests 😂

Still not reading too much, but here are three recs I did enjoy this week:
☆ an Ishizu/Mai YGO fic. I just love to see a story centering these two ladies. Also, the cat's name is hilarious
☆ Another YGO fic but this one is Ryou & Yami Bakura post-canon
☆ one Kuuga fic featuring Go/Ichi, of course. Broke my heart a little, but it's so good
***
Speaking of Kamen Rider series, Ryuki is now available on YouTube! Playlist here! (It's unfortunately probably region-locked most places 😡 but I know it's definitely available in the United States)
***
Ultraman Arc stuff!
Ishido's diary for episode 20. I enjoy these so much! He mentions his dad briefly in this one.
And I absolutely LOVED this week's episode (#22). It was so weird!! The plot felt like it could have been in a Star Trek or Stargate series. I love science fiction so much ♡
Not gonna talk about specifics to avoid spoilers, but I appreciated that this episode taught me about a famous surrealist painter 😂 and also gave me two more fic ideas to add to my list 😂
***
And speaking of writing, I'm excited about it again! I wrote up some thoughts on that earlier this week. I'm still currently working on treats for tokuhols, and there's a two-week amnesty period for femslashfete right now. So maybe I can finally finish a few fics I started but originally missed the deadline 🤞
I'm gonna have to take a little writing break in January probably at the rate I'm going right now 😂 but we'll see!
***
Lastly, I had a nice time Christmas shopping with my parents yesterday. We went out of town to where all the good shops are, so it was a nice day out. I haven't been in a clothes store in a while, so I was surprised to discover that velour is back in fashion?? Velour dresses! Velour tracksuits! Velour everything! It all felt very 1995 😂 (anyway, I did not buy anything velour because, ew. Not my thing.)
Also we stopped by a grocery store on the way home because it's known for selling a bunch of locally-made stuff. Everything was kinda pricey so I didn't buy too much, but the bakery section was delightful (I did buy a giant chocolate chip muffin). But the best thing was that this store was decked out in Christmas decorations. SO MANY THINGS EVERYWHERE! I've never seen anything like it at a grocery store?! And some of the decorations included a model train track which went all around the store. Like every now and then, I'd glance up and the train would be going by overhead 😂 So cool, but so weird. I loved it.
It's the little things in life that bring the most joy.
Anyway, that's it for today. Wishing everyone a merry week ahead!
