May '24 writing goals

alchemicinkWelp, May is here, so that means another monthly writing goals post. Can't believe another month zoomed by!
April's post is here
How did April's goals turn out?
Much better than March, that's for sure!
1) finish literally anything
Success!! This was my only goal for April, and I'm pleased I actually accomplished it, despite how awfully distracting work was for most of the month.
I wrote a fic for 23.5 which was very fun for me. And I wrote a ton of stuff for Seasons Of Drabbles.
It's nice how a simple success can get me motivated to write more.
So now for some May goals:
I'm gonna keep them simple again this month, and not emphasize finishing fics. Just making some progress on them.
1) start a Kurama-centric fic
I've got a long-fic idea rattling around in my head, focusing on Kurama (from YYH) spanning from pre-canon through post-canon. And I'd be happy just to start jotting down my ideas or an outline or some dialogue bits to include
2) work on an angstshipping fic
I started an angstshipping (YGO) WIP a while back, but I stumbled across something that inspired me to think about it again this week, so now I'm eager to get back to it! Probably won't finish it soon, but adding a few more scenes would be nice
3) start on the rest of my hanami project fics
I'm currently stuck on one of the fics, and I think it'll be better if I just skip ahead and try to start on the other ideas I have. They're all different fandoms, so there's no need to write in a certain order!! I've gotta break the habit of needing to write everything in order... (sometimes I even get stuck trying to do these writing goals in order despite being completely arbitrary...)
4) Megaranger drabble
I've already picked out which![[community profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/community.png)
toku100challenge prompt to use for my next Megaranger drabble, so it should be easy to actually write this!
5) start on my Into a Bar fic
Just saw that signups will be open forintoabar very soon! And I really want to participate again! So I'm adding this to May's goals because I procrastinated too much last year and scrambled to finish, and I'd rather get a head start this time.
6) write another 23.5 fic
Shamelessly must admit that it was nice to write for a pretty active fandom, so I'd like to do it again! I already have more ideas 🥰
I better stop here or I'll give myself TOO MANY goals 😂
I'm still having trouble with WIP hopping, but I think framing these goals like this will be more helpful this month for not putting too much pressure on myself.
We'll see how it goes!
