Art: Year of the Dragon(s)

As I mentioned in my most recent weekly summary, I actually did a little bit of art over the weekend! It's been over a year since I've touched my sketchbook, but I had a silly idea and just had to try drawing it.
Saturday was the Lunar New Year, and the beginning of the Year of the Dragon. I don't personally celebrate this holiday, but I was inspired by a lot of lovely art on Twitter and also the silly idea that there are so many anime (and other cartoon) characters I like that are associated with dragons in some way.
I'm really proud of how the art turned out (even though I'm still very much a beginner and have to use reference photos), so I wanted to share the art here too. Four photos under the cut!
I'm posting this from my phone, so as always, I have no idea how the images look on desktop. Hopefully fine tho! You'll have to click the images to enlarge. All art is pencil and crayon. Sorry that I have no other way to share it than simply taking a photo of the page in my sketchbook 😅

This is Hiei from Yu Yu Hakusho. He's got a special attack which is called "Dragon of the Darkness Flame" (in the English dub)

Mei (and Xiao Mei) from Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Her specialty, alkahestry, utilizes "the Dragon's Pulse"
(This one's my personal favorite. Mei's braids were super fun to draw)

Kaiba from Yu-Gi-Oh. His favorite Duel Monsters card is the Blue Eyes White Dragon. (You maybe can tell I was getting tired of drawing by the time I got to drawing the Blue Eyes 😅 For the record, I think this is a very dumb dragon design...)

Aang and Zuko from Avatar the Last Airbender. Specifically, they're doing the "dancing dragon" firebending form they learn together in season three. Yes, I'm sure it intentionally is supposed to look like the fusion pose from DBZ!
(This was my laziest one because at that point I was very tired of drawing, so I didn't even try to include the actual dragons here...)
Anyway, that's it! Just wanted to share this here too. I probably will not touch my sketchbook again for another year 😂
