This week somehow felt like it lasted a million years, and yet, I also feel like I barely remember any of it?? Strange.

Thankfully, I keep a note in my phone of everything I want to include in these summaries, so no worries about forgetting anything there!

I have one last fic recommendation from the Trick or Treat exchange: it's a Strange New Worlds fic with La'an/James Kirk as the pairing. Have I watched season 2 yet? Nope. Do I ship La'an/Kirk? Not really. Did I really enjoy this fic? I did indeed! It's really well-written and engaging the whole time.

Speaking of fics and fic exchanges, here is everything I wrote for this round of Seasons Of Drabbles:

the hardest part (atla, Katara/Yue)
For all seasons (atla, zukka)
Rematch (atla, Toph & Aang)
Bedtime (Fruits Basket, Kyou/Tohru)
Starting in the kitchen (FMA Brotherhood, Ed/Winry)
Umbrella (NCISLA, Granger & team)
no medical degree necessary (DS9, Garak/Bashir)
A Study in Efficiency (Voyager, B'Elanna/Seven)
Have it your way (SG-1, Teal'c & Jack)

As you can see, I had a lot of fun with this round! I wrote some ships I'd never written before, and got to dabble with some old fandom favorites. And I was feeling really inspired to write atla this time. Idk why 😂

I got a lot of really nice comments on all these fics, and I managed to reply to all of them last night. I'm planning this week to finally start browsing through the rest of the fics in the collection. I know there are some great ones in there.

In other exchange writing events, I signed up for this month's round of Planet BNHA. My first time since February (!) that I've participated. I was a little worried I'd struggle since I'd been on a bnha fandom break, but I'm really happy with what I've written so far. I'll be working on finishing the fic this week.

I also wrote a little something for [community profile] writetomyheart this week too. Just another snippet to go in my neverending angstshipping (Malik/Ryou from Yu-Gi-Oh) longfic 😂 you can read this snippet here

Got a few music recs this week!

HSJ shared a cute animated music video for Daisuki na Kimi e. The video is a kid and his dog, and it's absolutely adorable.

Gacharic Spin is also back this week with a new single, Baku Baku. It's another fun, energetic song from them. I especially love Koga's bass parts. And English subtitles are available.

It's been a while since I checked in on Unlucky Morpheus but they also released a new music video this week: UFO - u feel overjoyed (which I think is a hilariously great song title). I was too focused on Jill's violin parts the first time I watched, but the whole song is nice.

Netflix released trailers for the upcoming live action adaptations of Avatar the Last Airbender and Yu Yu Hakusho! I'm actually really excited about both.

I wrote some thoughts about both trailers here.

I also learned that the actor playing Yusuke in YYH was also in Ousasa 😂 he was the mom's long lost son there. And Goro (former member of SMAP) is playing Sakyo. I just love watching any Japanese show and recognizing half the cast from something else.

And speaking of Netflix stuff, they also shared a fun blooper reel from the One Piece live action series. I'm a sucker for bloopers, so this was entertaining to watch.

I finally FINALLY finished my FMA Brotherhood rewatch. The ending was just as satisfying as I remembered. Still one of my all-time favorites.

I was tempted to start the whole series over again for another rewatch, but then I decided to watch Sakamichi no Apollon (Kids on the Slope) instead. I bought that series on DVD at the anime convention earlier this year, so it's about time I actually watched it.

I watched the series a couple years ago, but it was in Japanese without subtitles, so I didn't quite understand everything. But I still enjoyed it, and I'm enjoying it even more now that I do have subtitles.

It's a lovely series about jazz music and friendship 🥰 I'm sure I'll have more thoughts to share as I continue watching. (I've been watching one episode a day right as I wake up each morning lol)

To wrap things up, a few irl moments from the week:

Had a bit of inauspicious start to the week because my car wouldn't start 😩 but we jumped the battery and checked it, and it's running fine again. Apparently I must have left an overhead light on sometime, though I have no memory of doing so 😅

It's been kind of a rough year for my car, and I'm probably gonna have to buy two new tires soon too. Siiiiiiigh

Also, at one point in the week, I just narrowly avoided some roadkill hitting my car. A buzzard was flying with something in its claws and dropped it almost right above me as I was driving. I'm glad it missed me 😬

These are the perils of rural life, I guess 😂

But on a brighter note, I saw ANOTHER bald eagle! (Or maybe the same one in a different location. Idk how large their range is.) But two weeks in a row is kinda cool! This one was taking flight so that was awesome to see as well.

At the end of the week, I had to go to a veterans day event for work, but this year they offered a free lunch afterwards for the first time, so I got to enjoy that. I've been trying to go to more community events these days, so this was a nice opportunity to see some people I don't run into every day.

Overall, I've been feeling really good lately. Both physically and mentally. Which is a nice change from earlier this year. I hope I'll be able to hold onto this positive attitude for a while.

Right now, the leaves here are at their peak for Fall color changing, so driving anywhere has been like going to a free art display, courtesy of mother nature. I will appreciate the scenery while I can!

Wishing everyone a wonderful week ahead 🥰
