This week: Minami joins the Zeztz team and Kosei says thank you to Sorato
I wasn't going to use an Ultraman Omega quote today because next week is the final episode, but this one was just so good, I had to!
Spoilers, as always, below. And one image in the Zeztz review!
Kamen Rider Zeztz (episode 16)
A lot of things happened in this episode. Nem got kidnapped by a Nightmare. Baku and Fujimi made up. Nox destroyed Zero?!
But most importantly, Minami is part of the team now!!
This is really my favorite thing because she felt so disconnected from the plot earlier. I'm glad she's getting a chance to do things. It makes her relationship with her brother more interesting to me too. She and Baku even went undercover together and it was the most adorable thing ever! I am excited for what she'll do going forward.

I'm still curious about what's going on with Nox and The (Evil) Lady, but I think that'll remain a mystery for a while. Very intriguing though.
Another fun thing about this episode: some more actual Kamen Riding! I loved the motorcycle fight scene. They're just so cool!
Ultraman Omega (episode 24)
There were parts of this episode which made me feel pretty emotional (downright weepy, if I'm being honest). I care less right now about the kaiju threat than I do about the relationship between Kosei and Sorato. That's really the heart of the episode.
Kosei reminds Omega (Sorato) of the first day they met, how he called him kind, and how the time they've spent together since made an impact on him. He gives up trying to convince Omega (Sorato) to come back but simply says thank you. Later, when Omega (Sorato) sees the girl he helped in the first episode again, you can tell that the time he's spent with Kosei (and, on the whole, interacting with humanity) has made an impact on him too.
I think those are the best kinds of relationships, and it's definitely the best part of the episode.
But my other favorite part is that the others don't give up when they realize Omega might not help them anymore. Instead, they get to work collecting samples and using science to figure out a way to fight back. It reminded me so much of episode 12 and why I loved that one too. I truly appreciate this show's (and Ultraman Arc's too) emphasis on using science and research to move forward. It's an excellent message for all viewers (but I think especially the younger ones).
I'm not ready for the series to end next week. It's never resonated with me on the level that Arc did, but when it hits, it hits. It's been a fun ride along the way that's got me thinking about a lot in the past few episodes. I will miss the characters very much.

Date: 2026-01-10 06:35 pm (UTC)Omega also made me weep this week. You can see how much Omega (Sorato) has been impacted from their time together. That scene just made me such a wreck. I know Sorato is probably still in there so I hope he can be able to be with everyone. ;o; And I also like how everyone still didn't give up. I'm not ready for this show to end either!

Date: 2026-01-11 05:30 pm (UTC)I think Sorato is still in there too, and I'm hoping he'll be able to do what he wants in the last episode. He deserves to have a nice life on Earth with everyone!! Next week's final episode is gonna be so good (and probably make us cry again 😅ðŸ˜)
