Friday Five answers (12/5/25)
Dec. 5th, 2025 11:56 pmI fell asleep earlier and almost forgot to post this. Well, it's still Friday for another few minutes here lmao. I got a little rambly with some of these answers because I am who I am 😅
1. If you had to participate in one Olympic event, what would it be and why?
Well firstly, I'm not athletic enough to do any sort of sport anymore, Olympic or otherwise 😂 But since we're being hypothetical... I would probably pick basketball and/or archery.
Basketball is my all-time favorite sport, and so it's the first thing that comes to mind if I had the choice to play anything. I'm not very good, of course, but I did play basketball in middle school for two years! (We were terrible but it was fun 😁)
I have less experience with archery, but I find it to be a fun sport too. I dabbled briefly with archery as a teenager, somehow convincing my parents to buy me a compound bow and arrows.
Here's a fun fact about archery: I'm left-handed so I expected to need a left-handed bow. But actually, your dominant hand doesn't really matter. It's your dominant eye that does! (Since that's what you're aiming with) I am, however, left-eye dominant too so I ended up with a left-handed bow anyway. My cousin, who is right-handed but left-eye dominant, ended up borrowing my bow when she wanted to compete in some archery competitions in high school. (She was quite good at it!) But by the time she returned it, my interest in archery had already shifted to something else. Thus ended my short-lived archery hobby 😂
I still have the bow though!
2. What is the one song you always sing along to?
I sing along to just about every song I hear if I'm alone, so how am I supposed to choose? 😂
But I suppose a good recent one is Kyoumei Revolution by ASH and MindaRyn. (It's the current ending theme for Ultraman Omega) I was trying to learn MindaRyn's part because the lyrics are relatively easy. So now every time I hear it, I start singing automatically. Mostly while I'm driving so no one else is subjected to my terrible singing lol
3. Do you wear a seatbelt in the car?
Yes!! Please wear a seatbelt any time you are in a vehicle. It can and will save your life!!!
I think the only time I maybe don't wear a seatbelt is when Pops and I ride around the farm or in the woods behind the house. There's no other vehicles around so it's not really a problem. But usually I buckle up out of habit anyway.
4. Car, SUV or truck and why?
They all have their different uses. But I prefer cars because that's what I drive and the gas mileage is the best on them. Also they're smaller so they're so much easier to maneuver around.
I don't have kids to cart around, so I can't imagine why I'd ever need an SUV.
Occasionally, I drive my dad's truck around. It's not bad, but it's always unsettling to go from a vehicle that's low to the ground to one that's much higher 😂 But it's useful when we move or haul stuff around. And I do enjoy the feeling of sitting in the back of a truck on a nice summer day.
But I absolutely hate having to take Pops' truck through a drive-thru at a fast food restaurant. His old truck was TOO BIG.
5. Are you a good/bad driver? Explain.
I would consider myself a good driver. At least compared to the plenty of reckless people I encounter on the road each day. (I think it should be harder to get a driver's license. Some people are not responsible enough to be on the road!!)
Years of practice are definitely helpful, but I think the key to good driving is really just having patience. You'll get to your destination when you get there, and speeding and reckless passing will not help you get there faster. I can't tell you the number of times an impatient driver has passed me in a dangerous way (like around a curve or when a car's coming from the opposite direction) and then I still catch up to them at the next stop sign or stoplight. Did the extra 30 seconds you saved by passing me really help in the grand scheme of things? No!
Anyway, I have lots of thoughts about safe driving, most of which is a lecture on using turn signals and headlights, so I will spare y'all the rant. Please just be safe on the roads!
