Another week has come and gone. It was a busy one and I've spent all weekend catching up on sleep 😅
Anyway, here are a few things to talk about from the past week:
We celebrated my brother's birthday at the beginning of the week! Always nice for all of us to get together and eat a lot of food. Mom made a cake too!
Cheers to another year!

Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans (or as I refer to it, Gundam IBO) is back on the GundamInfo YouTube channel again. Just season one for now, but I'm sure the second season will be up eventually again too.
Even though my Gundam franchise viewing has been limited, IBO is still my absolute favorite of all. Ultimately, I feel as though it's a story about what happens when children aren't given what they need to make it through life. Every adult in this series -- even the ones that are allies -- fail these children. The protagonists (the teenagers and kids) form their own company and try to make it in the adult world, but ultimately, they're wholly unprepared for how that world works and they're constantly being taken advantage of by the adults in schemes they're not fully even aware of.
I just think the series is a masterful piece of storytelling. It'll rip your heart out, but for me, it's definitely worth watching.
(Also, I think this Gundam series, like many others, has really excellent character design!)
Anyway, if you're able to, I fully recommend watching at least season one of the series, which does end on quite a satisfying high note.
In other Gundam news, I've started on season two of The Witch from Mercury (G-witch), and I'm enjoying it so far! But GundamInfo is only releasing the episodes weekly, so it's a struggle to wait 😠I'm sure I'll have more coherent thoughts on the series once I get deeper into this batch of episodes.

Didn't get a chance to do a lot of reading, but it happened to be my shiritori turn this week, and I was seized with an angstshipping fic idea! (Angstshipping is Malik/Ryou from Yu-Gi-Oh). Next thing I knew, I'd written a whole fic 😂 Here it is on ao3 (and here's the original version on
writetomyheart. There are minimal differences between the two; the ao3 version has an added opening paragraph)
In other writing news, I've finished my Pod_Together fic on time! So I'll be focusing on Seasons of Drabbles this week. And then after that I'll finally get back to reading more! (I hope, lol)
I also hope to catch up on the Sunshine Challenge too!!

It was a quiet week for music, so I only have one thing to share. But, boy, is it a fun one!
HSJ decided to put their music video for Kemono to Bara on YouTube. This was the lead track for one of their previous albums, and watching it now... it's still so ridiculous.
If you like wolves, you should check it out 😂 it's been years but I still want to know who came up with this concept and costuming and everything else. What were they smoking?
Anyway, this is the silly stuff I watch Johnnys for, so I can't really complain. (I can, however, laugh. A lot.)

Lastly, a few irl stories:
Started off the week with a semi-flat tire. Luckily, I was able to make it to my usual service station and get it patched up. They pulled a little white thing out of the tire, which may or may not have been animal bone?? I guess I hit some roadkill recently. (There is always a lot around here.) But anyway, I'm glad it was a quick fix!
Work was busy because half the office was on vacation (there is only four of us usually, lol). But despite all that, we managed to make it through! It'll be nice to have everyone back this week though.
And in garden news... it's that time of year where I kinda just want to mow it all down and be done with it 😓 it's just been too hot/humid to give it the care and attention it needs. But despite the weeds and weather, it's still persistent. I've been picking a few tomatoes, peppers, and okra recently.
I think we should all take that persistent attitude into the week ahead! Good luck to everyone!
