Friday Five answers (11/21/25)
Nov. 21st, 2025 08:49 pmI really liked this set of questions from
thefridayfive this week!
1. What's your favourite TV network?
I've probably mentioned it before, but I don't have streaming TV or cable or anything else like that at home. But I do have an over-the-air digital antenna, so I can pick up a handful of various broadcast channels.
Including several PBS channels, which is my answer to this question! There are a lot of neat things on PBS. I enjoy educational documentaries and the cooking shows the best. Sometimes I will put the channel on as background noise, but end up getting sucked into watching whatever is on anyway 😂
Plus, there is a North Carolina specific channel, and I do enjoy seeing more things that are directly relevant to me.
2. If you could create your own channel, what would it be?
Honestly, I'd just make a channel that would give me access to watching anything on Japanese TV here in the United States. I would love to be able to watch dramas and variety shows that my favorite actors and musicians are in without having to pirate it (and worrying that it'll be deleted after a couple of days).
Listen, I have had one special interest since 2005, and it's Japanese television 😅
3. What TV show did you watch as a child, that you wish they would bring back?
Can the people in charge of Star Trek give me just one Voyager follow-up movie or special? Just one post-canon glimpse of the characters is all I want! (I like what we get in Prodigy, but it's not everyone included there.)
4. What show have you always hated, and wonder why they ever made such a dumb show?
Nothing specific, but I don't really care for the reality TV genre in general. I prefer fictional storytelling with themes and metaphors I can analyze over watching people go about their business doing regular things. I mean... I don't have to watch TV to get that experience.
5. What TV show's seasons would you buy on DVD?
Any I can get my hands on at a decent price! (This is usually what I request for Christmas every year lol)
I like rewatching shows I enjoy, so physical media is ideal for me. I can just put it on whenever and watch whatever episodes I want.
