Weekly summary: Sept. 7 - Sept. 13, 2025
Sep. 14th, 2025 08:35 amWe keep going from nice sunny days to dreary drizzly days here. Rollercoaster weather 😂 But it's better than extreme heat!
I have a variety of things to share this week:
Star Trek Day was on Sept. 8, and part of this year's celebration was the release of the first episode of the new audio drama Star Trek Khan. It's a nine episode series that'll be released on Mondays. It's supposed to cover Khan's time on Ceti Alpha V and how he became the villain he was in The Wrath of Khan.
I enjoyed the first episode! It's been a very long time since I watched The Wrath of Khan and even longer since I've seen Space Seed, but this first episode did a good job of refreshing my memory. The series is framed as a historian looking into getting the full story from recently discovered records. I liked the emphasis on what it means to look at history and figure out if you're getting the full story or if you need to dig deeper.
***
Speaking of podcasts, I know I have mentioned The Broadside a few times recently, but it's really good, so I have to recommend another episode! This week's episode was about the history of the banjo and Black musicians. I love music history so this was really interesting.
***
I managed to find a few minutes to finish a Gozyuger fic I've been writing since *checks notes* May!
☆ with strings cut (Ryuugi & Hoeru)
Of course, it has zero comments which is really disappointing when I worked really hard on writing it, am really proud of how it turned out, and fic writing is the main way I engage with fandom.
Whatever! I liked the fic!

TV stuff:
I posted about Gingaman episodes 15-26 here. The show is really hitting its stride now and I'm enjoying it a lot!
I did, however, take a mini-break from Gingaman to start rewatching Ultraman Arc again this week 😅 I love this show so much ♡ (but I will be back on Gingaman soon)
Also, my weekly TV reviews are here. (I was mad about Gozyuger in that post, but I've already seen the preview for episode 31 and I'm no longer mad 😂)
Speaking of TV, I forgot they were making a Hana Kimi anime! But this ANN article says it's gonna premiere in January. Nice! I'm sure it'll be on a streaming service I don't have, so I can't watch, but it's nice to know it's still happening.
Actually, this news is making me want to rewatch the 2007 live action series again... maybe I'll add it to my weekly TV reviews... 🤔
***
Music stuff!
Nothing new this week but YouTube reminded me of one of my favorite UVERworld songs: Colors of the Heart (originally released in 2006 as an opening for Blood+)
***
Lastly, offline life. This week was a little bit of a breather after the busyness of the previous week and the busyness of this coming week.
The most exciting thing was the new Chinese restaurant that opened. The food was good!!
The other exciting thing is that I'm sorta taking up tap dancing again 😅 for the first time since I graduated high school lol. The shoes still fit!! I'm gonna make a separate post about it sometime, so I can include some photos.
And that's it! This coming week is going to be insanely busy, but hopefully I'll make it through okay 🤞 For now, I'm gonna eat breakfast and then go back to bed for a bit 😂
Wishing everyone a wonderful week ahead!
