Another week has flown by and somehow we are already in June?! Feels like just yesterday I was starting these weekly summary posts.

At least the weather this time of year is really nice!

Let's start off with fic stuff this week. Reveals happened for Seasons of Drabbles, so I can finally share my fics here! I wrote seven fics, and three of those were for a fandom I've never written for before. So that was neat! I've never been much of a short fic/flash fic writer, but this was such a fun way to challenge myself. I'm really proud of everything I wrote!

Without further ado, here are my fics:
Just the way you are (Yu Yu Hakusho, Yusuke & Kuwabara)
stand tall (My Hero Academia, Yagi Toshinori)
Second Opinion (My Hero Academia, Tokoyami & Dark Shadow)
Perspectives on problem solving (Stargate SG-1, Jack & Sam & Daniel & Teal'c)
Bad case of the Mondays (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Miles O'Brien/Keiko O'Brien)
connection (Fullmetal Alchemist, Winry & Riza)
aftermath (Avatar: The Last Airbender, Zuko & Suki)

These were so much fun! I definitely will be signing up for future rounds too!

I only have one fic rec this time but it's so good, it ruined me for reading other fics for a while 😅 I had Monday off from work, so I delved into this Azula/Suki fic and just could not stop reading. It's an extremely rare pair, but the fic is very engaging that it makes sense, and you just can't put it down. (Also the chapter titles are hysterical)

Now, onto my weekly rambling about Ousasa. Episode seven had a lot of cute and funny moments. Ayaka and Tougou went on a real date! It was adorable 🥰 plus there was a hilarious running gag in this episode where they kept getting interrupted every time Tougou tried to kiss her.

But it wasn't all fun and fluff. Kamiyami had to get creative with his "trying to break them up" schemes, and his method involved taking a drunk Ayaka to a hotel instead of her home 😬😬😬 not great! Plus, there are still three episodes left!! What else is he gonna do??

Also, unrelated to anything that was happening in the main plot in this episode, there was a b-story about a lady who wanted to plan a wedding with a fictional character. The character in question? It was Guel Jeturk from G-witch! 😂 what a weird collision of two things I enjoy!

Speaking of other things I enjoy, I learned this week that Paramount made the first season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds available for free on YouTube (in the US only) for the month of June! (It's to promo season two which is starting in a few weeks.) I have been wanting to check out several of the new Trek shows for a while but I don't have Paramount+, so this is a nice opportunity for me.

Strange New Worlds has been really entertaining to me so far! I'm four episodes in, as of writing this post. It feels very classic Trek to me, which I enjoyed much more than the parts of Star Trek Discovery that I watched. (I just couldn't vibe with that series. At least, not season one.)

My favorite thing about science fiction is that it can examine the best and worst of humanity through a different lens than a regular story based in reality. I think this series manages to do that in what I've watched so far, and I'm looking forward to the rest.

(I'm gonna be so disappointed when season two starts and I can't watch it 😭 but maybe I'll get the series on DVD one day)

Lastly, an update on the garden! I unfortunately had to pull up some tomato plants with wilt this week (and a pepper plant too), so I'm a bit disappointed. But that's not unusual, especially with tomatoes, so I can only hope the rest weren't affected. Time will tell.

And after a long several days of cloudy and rainy weather, we finally had some sunshine again. So I finally had the opportunity to chop the weeds again. The garden looks so much better when it doesn't have grass growing in between the plants and the rows.

Sometimes, you just gotta get out there and do the hard work of tearing out stuff you don't need, so that everything else will thrive 🥰

Wishing everyone a wonderful week! And Happy Pride!
