Weekly summary: Jan. 26 - Feb. 1, 2025

This was a busier week for me, but I did finally manage to sleep a bit more and still get some fandom stuff done too.

A very link-heavy summary this week:

I finished up the Snowflake Challenge this week with Challenge 14 (create your own challenge) and Challenge 15 (moments of unexpected joy)

I didn't do all of the challenges this year, but I did more than last year. So I'm proud of that! This was a fun event and I'll miss getting to interact with people regularly 😅 oh well, until next year!

Ultraman Connection posted the final two entries of Ishido's diary 😭 here's #24 and #25.

I truly enjoyed this little side project for Ultraman Arc. The diary entries made Ishido Shu such an interesting character with a lot of depth. It definitely boosted how much I enjoyed the series.

Now that the series and the journal entries are over, I'm working on a couple of things. I'm putting together a sort of "resource" post to collect various links to Ultraman Arc things. I'm almost done with it, so I'll hopefully get that posted this week.

I'm still working on various fics too!

Last week, I mentioned that writing was fun, but posting made me feel awful. So I posted these in an attempt to get over that. It... didn't help 😩

Nevertheless, we persist.

I made my usual monthly writing goals post for February, so hopefully that all goes well.

And also, halfamoon began yesterday! Here's what I wrote for Day 1

Music stuff!

It was another rather boring week for the bands I follow. But I do have a nice little reunion video for the former idol group NYC.

Back in... 2009? 2010? Something like that... two of the guys (Yamada and Chinen) from hsj were included in a side project with another guy (Nakayama Yuma) from their company. Their initials spelled NYC, hence the group name.

They released a couple of singles together until 2012, and then I assume their schedules were too busy to continue.

Anyway, so 12ish years later, Yamada and Chinen made an appearance at Nakayama's solo concert to sing some of their songs again. It was cute. I didn’t even really like NYC at the time, but I'm not immune to nostalgia 😅

In offline life news... I got nothing lol. Work has shifted back into busy mode for our big annual project, so that's gonna take up a lot of time for the next two weeks or so.

Hopefully I won't accidentally burn myself out but... uh, we'll see.
