I know I say something like this every post, but this past week was really a blur. Plus, I think I was mildly ill for two days, which didn't help the exhaustion. I'm feeling better now though. And I do have fun things to share this week, despite *gestures broadly* everything.

Music stuff!

Just one song this week, but Trident is promoting their new album with a new song. It's appropriately called Haha! and it is so fun. Definitely one of those kinds of songs I'd put on to get pumped about something.

Time for my usual Ultraman Arc rambling. I'm really obsessed right now 😂

I thought there wasn't going to be an Ishido diary entry this week (on account of the gap caused by the special recap episode). But it seems there is one set between episodes 15 and 16. The translation is here. I'm definitely gonna use these entries to write an Ishido-centric fic when the series is over.

Anyway, this week's episode 17 was great! Made me laugh out loud several times and then it delivered the usual emotional gut punch. This is just a really fun show to watch each week. 🥰

And, of course, I somehow managed to write another Arc fic this week 😁 just a little double drabble using a prompt from

Just a tiny bit of fic reading this week, mostly through the Kamen Rider Ryuki tag. So many good fics there, but here's two I wanted to rec: A very short ren/shinji fic and a Tezuka-centric one with an implied ot3.

Halloween is over but I rediscovered this week that I'd saved the link to a podcast about North Carolina ghost stories (and other paranormal stuff). I've listened to the first three episodes so far, and they're mostly stories I'm already familiar with, but I've been enjoying it anyway. (A local ghost gets mentioned in episode 2!)

Lastly........ I don't wanna talk about the election 😒 (though I'm happy about the outcome of several state races, at least). I did do my usual stringing gig for the Associated Press on Tuesday night, and despite everything, it was nice to chat with the local Board of Elections and staff while we waited. (We talked about football 😂)

Mostly, I'm just focusing these days on local things and people. I went to a historic marker unveiling on Saturday afternoon. It recognized the history of local Black baseball teams that were active from the 1930s to the 1960s. I enjoyed listening to people share stories and fond memories of that time. I always learn something interesting at events like that.
