October '24 writing goals

Somehow... it's October 🤔 Guess it's time to throw together some new writing goals.

September's post is here

Did I manage to accomplish any of my September goals?

Partially! Which is better than I expected actually.

1) write an Ultraman Arc fic; write an Ultraman Blazar fic

Failure! And Success! 😂

I didn't manage to write the Arc fic that's been simmering in my brain, but I did do a Blazar fic for the Tokusatsu Ficathon 🥳 I would love to write a lot for both these fandoms in the future. Having easily accessible episodes that I can rewatch any time really helps. So I have confidence in myself for the future.

2) work on some Halloween fics

Failure! I'm currently not feeling the Halloween spirit, so I never did poke at any of my ideas. But I did pick out potential treats for the Trick or Treat exchange. So... progress?

3) sign up for Ladies Bingo

Success!

Did I start writing any of the prompts yet? No! But we're taking baby steps here 😂

4) actually finish one of my WIPs!!

Gonna count this as a success because I finally posted that Bakuiida fic I've been working on for a while (but technically I finished it at the end of August, and just waited a while to edit/think of a title/post)

Overall, September was a busy, stressful month, so I'm happy with what I did manage to accomplish.

Time for some ~spooky~ October goals:

I'm not gonna set too many this month since life is still very hectic right now. It ought to get better about halfway through the month (I hope) but you never know what other things might pop up.

1) write something for the Trick or Treat exchange

There were so many good requests!! I really hope I manage to write a few. It's been fun for me this year to try out fandoms I don't usually write much for, and this is another good opportunity for that. I think I'll just count whatever I manage to write as my Halloween fics for this year.

2) actually write a fic for ladies bingo

I've already decided the first prompt I'm gonna write is perfect for Ongsa/Sun from 23.5. Now I just have to actually start writing it 😠

3) write that Ultraman Arc fic

Begging my brain to cooperate and actually focus on writing the little tiny idea in my head. It's just a drabble! I can do it!!

4) write something for tdbk fantasy week

My friend is running a Fantasy AU week for the Todoroki/Bakugou ship, and the prompts are here. (As a general reminder, ship name order doesn't matter to me. I just go with whatever version of the ship name I like best)

Anyway, I haven't been able to write this ship for... like almost two years now, but hopefully I'll get at least one thing done for this.

And that's really all the specific goals I have for October. As always, there are some WIPs I'd like to finish, but I feel like if I put them on the list here specifically, I'll just end up intentionally avoiding them 😂 Why am I like this?

Hopefully it'll be a fun writing month! Cheers to everyone else on their own goals too!

Best of luck with all your goals this month! Glad to see you were able to do a Blazar fic like you wanted to, wishing you the best with the Arc one!! I feel you on needing to get your brain to cooperate, even with the smallest of ideas. XD I need to work on my ladies bingo fills too sometime.
