Weekly summary: Sept. 22 - Sept. 28, 2024

alchemicinkSeptember is almost over, and I say GOOD RIDDANCE. Despite a few bright spots, it has not been a great month overall.
Anyway, I still have my regular weekly things to share. Let's get to it:
Wrote the beginnings of a Yu Yu Hakusho whump fic earlier this week for shiritori. Not finished yet, but you can check it out here. It's Kurama and Yusuke. Nothing graphic in this snippet.
I also finally managed to finish another fill for the Tokusatsu Ficathon! This time I wrote a very self-indulgent fluffy Megaranger polycule 🥰 You can read it here
I'm working on writing some other things too, and hope to finish more this week. (The more I write, the less I think about other things... haha)

Ultraman Arc continues to be really good!! The last few episodes have been one emotional gut punch after another, but I've really enjoyed them. This week's episode (#12) didn't disappoint either!
I'm slowly working on catching up with my mini reviews of the episodes. Hoping to at least post the one for episodes 7 & 8 this week 🤞 (I'll catch up on my Blazar posts... eventually lol)
Also, sharing the translation of Ishido's diary for episode 10. These insights into his perspective continue to be really interesting.

Music stuff!!
Finally have a few things to share this week, after several slower weeks.
As I mentioned in last week's summary, NEWS is slowly uploading all of their old music videos to YouTube. And the one I was excited about this week is weeeek (yes that's how it's spelled 😂). This is a fun song!
YouTube rec'd me a group I've never heard of before, but they seem really cute and silly. They're called Philosophy no Dance, and the song is Shu Cream Funk. Apparently this was an ending song for an anime I've never watched. But I enjoyed the music video a lot! Lots of references to silly Japanese variety shows!
My friend sent me this new song by Atarashii Gakko. I was vaguely familiar with the group before, but now I wanna check out more of their stuff!
Gacharic Spin is releasing a new album soon, so they shared a new music video this week. Restaurant F is very typical Gacharic Spin, and I enjoyed it!

Lastly, I've been unfortunately stuck doomscrolling the devastation left behind by Hurricane Helene over the weekend. It's crazy how big the storm was because we were getting heavy bands of rain and tornado warnings on Friday, even though the bulk of the storm was hundreds of miles to the west. Thankfully, nothing was too bad here, but the mountains of western NC (and east Tennessee) got hit so hard. It's catastrophic. I'm not even going to try to describe it here. It's just too depressing, and I'm already dealing with other personal irl stuff that's depressing too. There's not a lot of national news coverage yet, but I hope that'll change this week so people can get more outside help.
Anyway, I'm probably gonna post this and then take another nap. I've been seeing everyone's posts on my reading page, but I haven't been able to comment like I wanted to. But I do enjoy reading everyone's updates and little things! Hopefully I'll catch up this week.
