Kamen Rider Zeztz (episode 28)
I'm continuing to really enjoy this current arc. Sieg (Code #1) has been a very entertaining character so far. We get a glimpse of his backstory in this episode, showing that #2 (The Lady) disliked him from the start, noting that he was a criminal already serving a thousand-year (?!) sentence. And then Nox says Sieg was possessed by Nightmares, and warns Baku that the same could happen to him.
Baku is pretty confident about not letting that happen to himself... so I assume this will pop up as a plot point again in about 15 episodes or so 🤔
What I really liked in this episode was getting to see Nox and Nem interact. They really didn't get a chance to much in the first half of the series (not anything very substantial anyway), so it's nice to see him be protective here while also trying to maintain his aloof demeanor. I said in an early review that I wished the two of them ended up being siblings because it would be a nice parallel to Baku and Minami, and this episode gave me the sibling vibes I was hoping for even if they're not actually related.
But speaking of Minami... I'm very confused by the next episode's preview. Is she really an agent too??
Girl Rules (episode 4)
Interesting developments with the girls this week.
Shasha insists to Gorya that she's only getting the "benefits" part of their "friends with benefits" arrangement, and that they should become friends too. Gorya is reluctant, but it is fun to watch them spend more time together. Shasha, however, remains as arrogant as ever and can't resist when other ladies flirt with her too. So their relationship is a series of starts and stops. It's very entertaining to me.
Meanwhile, Praew continues to flirt with Min, and they finally hook up after getting drunk again. They are cute, but I wonder if Min actually likes Praew when she's sober. I'm sure they will run into some problems down the road. (But for now, it was fun to watch them make out at the bar... literally on top of the bar 😂)
And then there's whatever's happening with Prim and Bambi. We do finally get some info on what happened while Bambi was away. She was apparently dating a lady and they had a big argument while driving, and then the girlfriend died in the subsequent car crash.
Of course, Prim hears all this secondhand from a friend of the dead lady. Bambi is trying hard to not acknowledge it. In the end, Prim agrees to be Bambi's girlfriend again, without telling Bambi what she's learned. I feel like we're still missing a puzzle piece here on why Prim completely changed her attitude about Bambi. Does she just feel sorry for her? Is there something else going on? I guess we'll find out as the story continues!
