Daylight Savings weekend! I will miss that extra hour of sleep, but I am looking forward to more evening sunshine now 😊

(Actually, I will not miss that extra hour of sleep because I'm gonna nap later 😂)

Anyway, the usual stuff:

A few fanfic/fanvid recs this week. I've been catching up on the Starfleet Academy fics open in my tabs. I really enjoyed this Sam-centric fanvid with an excellent music choice. I also loved this Jay-Den fic (content notes for mentions of blood and death). And lastly, this pre-canon fic where Vance recruits The Doctor for the Academy was fantastic.

In other recs, I finally posted my recs from festivids 2025. A lot of good stuff in the collection!

As for writing, I'm not doing much at the moment. After February, it's time for a mini break. But I did throw together my usual monthly writing goals post.

And I have signed up for the tokusatsu girls remix exchange. I'm so excited about it!! There's only a week left to sign up.

TV stuff!

Star Trek Prodigy won an Emmy for animation this past week. Well-deserved! It's a shame, however, that you can only enjoy that animation now if you physically own a copy of the series on DVD or Blu-ray. It's no longer available streaming 🙃 (I love physical media, don't get me wrong. But it's sad to see it's the only series currently not available for new fans to check out, especially because it's really good!)

Happy to report that Miss Scarlet got renewed for season 7, but kinda sad to report it'll be the last one. It looks like several previous cast members are returning though, so I hope it'll be a nice send-off.

Pivoting back to Star Trek, I posted another Trek Thoughts this week. This one was just a silly thing about Voyager's one-word episode titles. I've really been in a big Star Trek mood lately, so maybe more Trek Thoughts to come soon. (I need Star Trek friends 😭)

And of course, my weekly reviews are here

Answered the Friday Five again this week. Another set of fun questions (about snow/winter), but the timing was hilarious to me since it's unseasonably warm here right now. And looks to remain that way this upcoming week too. (I think I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and turn on my AC today actually)

Lastly, offline life has been okay. Tuesday was North Carolina's primary election, so I spent the evening hanging out at the county Board of Elections office and calling in numbers to the Associated Press. I'm glad the staff is always very friendly to me. And things went smoothly, so I was able to leave by 10:30pm.

The only other notable thing I did this week was yardwork yesterday. I took advantage of the nice weather to clean up the remains of last year's garden, and do some maintenance on my chestnut trees. I am working on a separate post with more details to share this week. Also, I ate lunch on the porch and listened to the basketball game. It was really lovely (except my team lost 😒)

And... that's it I guess. Wishing everyone a wonderful week ahead!
