alchemicink: Just a good shot of Yuma's face (Yuma)

So we got a bunch of sleet and ice here this past weekend. The power somehow miraculously stayed on at my house the entire time. And, on Sunday, I bundled up during a break in the precipitation to take some photos outside of the ice on all my plants.

I wanted to share photos of my iced-over chestnut tree. It was really neat looking because there were some dead leaves still clinging to the branches and you'd think they'd be too fragile to withstand the ice, but they hung on anyway.

I don't have any photos of my grapevine to share, but it looked really cool in the ice too. Any part that was north-facing got covered, but the other side was mostly spared. You could see ice on one half of the post but nothing on the other side. It looked cool.

I attempted to go back to the office today because the road looks mostly clear, but in the end, I wasn't able to get enough ice off my car to go anywhere this morning. (All the ice has lingered because of the still freezing temps.) Thankfully my boss was 100 percent okay with me working another day from home.

But I am looking forward to finally leaving the house tomorrow 😂

It might be short-lived freedom, however, because they say we might get a bunch of snow (actual snow!) this weekend. It's unusual for us to get back to back winter storms. I hope February is unseasonably warm...
