Gozyuger episode 31: Ryuugi!!!!!

alchemicinkOk, so I'll have my regular little review like usual in Saturday's TV post, but I enjoyed episode 31 so much that I have to ramble more about it a bit now.
Incredibly detailed spoilers below!
Things I really liked in this episode:
☆ Aoi being the one to say he really likes Ryuugi as the cafe manager. We never really get to see them interact in the show, but I like the implication that they do frequently offscreen. I can imagine Ryuugi being like... sternly doting (?), because he's like Team Mom to everyone
☆ Rikuo, Kinjirou, and Sumino staying with Hoeru in the hospital 🥹 supportive friends! He deserves that
☆ Kinjirou saying the doctors walking by looked like a drama was so funny because he was RIGHT 😂 (I was thinking the same thing right as he said it 😂😂😂) Also I love how overjoyed he was to reunite with Ryuugi. Living up to his Party People Number One title by going "woooooo" in the middle of a hospital
☆ I've had a headcanon since episode 14 that Ryuugi probably was forced by his parents to attend medical school at some point before the series began. (He's old enough for it) I feel like this episode confirms that, because there's no way he'd be allowed to work as a doctor there otherwise, even if he IS the hospital director's son (I will probably write fic about this at some point)
☆ Absolutely cackled at the Gozyugers forfeiting the first fight against Doctor No One because Rikuo decided he's against medical malpractice 😂 (sidenote, but the BlueYellow shipper in me enjoyed that Rikuo was the one who ran off to "get a real doctor" (Ryuugi) instead. I just appreciate that was his thought)
☆ I loved everything about the confrontation between Ryuugi and Hoeru. You can tell Ryuugi has just sort of given up at this point, and Hoeru is so mad about it. In fact, he gets so mad, he tries to pay off his debt to Ryuugi to cut ties. It's such a good callback to episode 9. (It was really satisfying to see after I wrote a whole fic about Ryuugi & Hoeru's relationship)
☆ sidenote: it was hysterical seeing Hoeru take all Rikuo's money and immediately toss the wallet away, and Rikuo is just standing there like ???
☆ different sidenote: I really like when Ryuugi gets serious and angry about things. It's such a contrast from his usual happy weirdo self
☆ hilarious little moment to me when Mashiro shows up to rescue Kinjirou and Sumino, and the camera pans to him standing in the corner not near any of the doors. HOW DID HE GET IN WITHOUT BEING SEEN 😂
☆ Rei's appearance was a great way to shake things up. I'm glad that we're finally learning more about him. I never would have guessed he was a surgeon who lost his job after injury. Nice twist.
☆ so satisfying to see Ryuugi find his resolve again! He is not a doll. He is making his own decisions. He is breaking free!! I appreciate him not having to forgive his father either. (Again, I want to write fic!!)
☆ Mashiro jumping in front of the poison darts to protect Ryuugi reminded me that I also kinda ship them too........ much to think about on the shipping front for me 🤔 (lol, I am a multishipper)
☆ I don't know who does the suit acting for GozyuTyranno, but they were phenomenal in this episode. (But also previous episodes too.) I really like to watch Tyranno's very grounded fighting style
☆ so happy to have joyful weirdo Ryuugi back at the cafe by the end of the episode ♡
☆ next episode: Mom said it's Sumino's turn to temporarily leave the Gozyugers!! (I can't wait to see her confront Rikuo about Rei)
