Recognizing faces

My favorite thing when watching TV (but especially Japanese TV for some reason) is when I see random character and be like "oh I've seen them in [other relatively obscure TV show] too!"

Anyway, Nanase Kou, the guy who played (ex)Prime Minister Tokonatsu in some early Gozyuger episodes, was also briefly in today's SSBC episode! (He was also briefly in last week's SSBC episode too, but I only clocked him watching today)

(The uncle from Kamen Rider Gavv briefly appeared in SSBC a few weeks ago too. My brother's theory that the Japanese entertainment industry is only 15 or so people is beginning to hold water 🤪)

I'm terrible at remembering faces (in real life, too, which can get real awkward!) but my housemate is a monster at it. We'll be watching the most random movie and she'll recognize an actor appearing for all of ten seconds and say something that sounds like, "Hey, that's the actress who played a tertiary character in two episodes of a Sakurai Sho drama in 2012!" and look up the name and see that she was right and meanwhile and I'm just (O_O)<what?

Ahhh that's amazing she can recognize them so fast! For me it's usually like "oh I've seen that face before... but where?" And then it'll come to me like three days later at 2am 😂
