Finally finished another busy work project this week, so I may be able to actually be a little more active here again. My brain should feel less like mush soon 👍

I read a cool science-focused NPR article this week about how the Earth's slightly variable spin time made a day last week just a smidge shorter than usual. I just thought it was neat!

Music stuff!

No music videos this week, but I did enjoy reading this interview with Band Maid's guitarist Miku Kobato.

In case you missed it, [community profile] fandomgiftbasket will be open for signups Aug 23! I don't know yet if I'll sign up, but I'm sure I'll try to gift a few things.

Also [community profile] seasonsofdrabbles is back for another round, with nominations opening tomorrow. I had so much fun last round, but I'm feeling a bit burned out at the moment, so I'm not sure yet if I'll sign up. I still have some time to decide.

Posted my weekly TV watching post late last night. I've been pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoy SSBC so far, and I continue to be kinda disappointed in Whale Store 😞 oh well.

I also did some housesitting for my parents, so I temporarily had access to Paramount+, which means I finally got to start watching Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 2! (Only like 3 years or so late 😂) I got through the first half of the season and really enjoyed it. "Ad Astra Per Aspera" and "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow" are absolute standouts, but I liked all of them so far. Maybe I'll make a more detailed post later when I have more time to think about it.

I'd love to catch up with the series and finally be able to fully dive into the fics (and also write some more myself)

Lastly, offline life! Some stuff that was giving me anxiety has cleared up now, so that's a relief for now. I was able to enjoy a few things this week.

I went out to do a work thing over in a small town (like, population less than 300 people) in a neighboring county, so I got to visit the town's art studio (I've been before and I love it) and the town's new coffeeshop. I didn't even know they had a coffeeshop! But it was really nice. I got a sandwich for lunch and (since I don't drink coffee) a GIANT lemonade. Seriously, it was huge. I'm still laughing about it. But the lemonade was really good. I'll definitely want to go again sometime, but it's a bit of a drive to get there. (Such is life in rural North Carolina 😅)

Yesterday, we had a family get-together at my aunt's house, so it was nice to see all my cousins and their (very rambunctious) babies 😂 It was a good time but I was so exhausted afterwards. This introvert is not going to leave the house at all today to recharge!

Anyway, that's it! Wishing everyone a fun week ahead!
