Gozyuger "dolls and puppets"

Was thinking about the latest Gozyuger episode and came to a realization about Ryuugi and Hoeru, which retroactively makes a scene in episode 10 make more sense to me. I think way too much about this series lol. Some ramblings about it under the cut
When Ryuugi's telling the others in episode 14 about his past, he uses the word "ningyou," which can translate to "doll" or "puppet." Ryuugi was talking about how his family treated him like he was nothing but a doll (as in, they have his life planned out for him without his input).
And then I remembered that when Kuon confronts the team in episode 9, he also uses the word "ningyou" to describe Hoeru (as in, Hoeru is Kuon's puppet to manipulate).
In episode 10, Ryuugi has a brief scene with Hoeru where he offers him a drink for free and sorta tries to (awkwardly) commiserate that they both have family issues. The first time I watched it, I obviously didn't have the knowledge of Ryuugi's backstory, but after watching episode 14, I wondered if Ryuugi felt some sort of kinship with Hoeru specifically because of the way Kuon described him as a puppet. He understands what it feels like to have someone else try to pull your strings. And that's really why he decided to reach out then. (Not just because of their family issues in general.)
Anyway, I have been thinking all day now about what Ryuugi's perspective must have been between episodes 8, 9, and 10, and I may actually write this as a fic 😅 (because I'm better at putting my headcanons in fic instead of rambly meta like this post)
I can always tell when I start getting obsessed with a new character because I start plotting out a million fic ideas for them. But we shall see if I actually can wrangle my tired brain into writing this eventually 🤞
