Weekly summary: June 23 - June 29, 2024

alchemicinkAnd just like that, June is over. It was a pretty nice month (despite it not raining here for most of it), but I'm not looking forward to July, which is gonna be busier.
But whatever. Things could be worse! (At least it rained today... finally!)
Let's move on to the summary:
I had some time earlier in the week to do some fic reading, so I have a variety of recs:
☆ A DS9 fic from Keiko's point of view (with Miles/Keiko/Kira as the endgame ship)
☆ A Chuchu-centric G-witch fic, slightly canon divergent in the end and includes Chuchu/Felsi
☆ Interesting G-witch pre-canon character study for Secelia and Chuchu (it's the first fic of a series but the next fic is incomplete so I haven't read that yet)
☆ A fun little G-witch fic where Suletta switches places with her younger self
☆ A YGO fic featuring trans!Ryou. Mind the tags!
☆ Another YGO fic featuring Seto/Atem. I really enjoyed the structure of this one.

NPR's Life Kit series had an article about improving memory which is useful for me to read about.
Ironically, I've been extra forgetful this week 😅

I cleaned up a quick YGO angstshipping fic this week and finally posted it here.
I continue to be incredibly disappointed with fic engagement on ao3 these days, but I'm still proud of how the fic turned out, even if only a handful of people read it.
I didn't get to finish my weekly femslashfete fic 😭 but that's okay. The end of the week was too busy to focus on it. I'll circle back to it later.
Against my better judgment (lol), I signed up for Seasons Of Drabbles again! I think I will have to hold back on an excessive number of treats this time tho. But it'll still be fun, I think!

My brain has been tired this weekend, so I started a rewatch of Ousasa on Friday. It's subbed on Rakuten Viki (under the title "Kissing the Ring Finger") so I'm enjoying getting to understand the bits I didn't when I was watching with no subs. But I'm also pleasantly surprised by discovering how much I did understand the first time! This series is so silly 😂
Also, I discovered today that Paramount+ temporarily has all of Star Trek: Lower Decks season one available on YouTube (only in the United States, I believe). I'm trying to watch through it quickly because I'm not sure how long it's available.
So far, I'm enjoying it! (Tho not as much as I did when I watched season 3. But I think most series take a few episodes of season one before they feel settled.)

Lastly, I've been stressed the past few days because it's time for me to buy a new car 😭😭😭 the transmission is going on my old one, so I've been borrowing Pops' truck the past few days. My parents and I went car shopping yesterday, and I discovered that the car I actually really liked isn't affordable for me. So I'm still stuck trying to figure out what to do. Big decisions like this stress me out, so I hope maybe I'll get things resolved soon. In the meantime, I'll be fretting over everything.

I got lucky with the drabbles and ended up with an easy assignment! So I've already finished it 😁 I'm planning to make some more progress on pod_together today!
Yeah, it continues to be a bit depressing to just see how little engagement there is no matter what fandom right now. But it's helped to adjust my expectations
