Weekly summary: Mar. 24 - Mar. 30, 2024

alchemicinkPeople like to call the NCAA basketball tournament "March Madness" because it can get really crazy at times. But, to be honest, it's a good nickname for this month in general. So many weird things happening all around.
But somehow we are already at the end of the month 🤔 time flies too fast!
Anyway, speaking of the basketball tournament, it's been another exciting magical week for my teams! NC State men's and women's teams both played on Friday (different places but at the same time), and both won! Now they're in the "Elite Eight" part of the tournament and playing later today for a chance to reach the Final Four!
No matter what happens, I've just been really enjoying these past few weeks! It's been so fun to watch 🥰 (it's been especially surreal to see my often-overlooked team get some national news coverage for all this too!)
Edited to add: both teams won today and are playing in the final four next weekend!!

toku100challenge! You can read it here on DW or here on Ao3. It was fun to finally write the idea that's been bouncing around in my head for like a year 😅 Definitely will be writing more!
But for now I'm going to turn my attention to my little hanami fic project (mentioned in last week's summary) and alsoseasonsofdrabbles (signups are now open!)

Fic rec time!
A couple of YGO recs: this Ishizu/Seto AU was really lovely; this Atem-centric post-canon fic was very thoughtful; and this Malik-centric character study was poignant.
...you can tell I'm still very much into reading YGO at the moment 😅
But I also have one G-witch rec: this Shaddiq character study. Mind the tags tho!

Speaking of G-witch, I discovered yesterday that Cassie Ewulu, the lady who does the English dub voice of Secelia, also does anime song covers in English. She posted a bit of her cover of "Slash" (originally by Yama) on her Twitter here. I checked her YouTube to see what else she's done, and there's a beautiful cover of Red Birthmark (originally by Aina the End) too.
In other music news, Saki, the guitarist from Nemophilia, is leaving the band 😔 announcement (in English) is here on Twitter. Disappointing but I hope she's successful in future endeavors!

Lastly, I'm still enjoying 23.5 (the Thai drama). It's full of silly fanfic tropes and it's really cheesy, but it makes me laugh each episode. The characters are all really cute!
I'm not crazy about the online chatting plotline (where one girl doesn't know she talking to her classmate while the other does know), but I suppose without it there would not be any conflict in the plot. Oh well. Next week's preview looks angsty, so I'm curious to see how it goes.
Anyway, that's it for this week's summary. I haven't had a lot of sleep the past few days, so I'm hoping this week will be more restful. Wishing everyone a wonderful week ahead!
