I had a particularly busy week at work, so this is going to be a generally short post, since I didn't get to do much. Let's hop to it!

We're more than halfway through the six-episode season of Miss Scarlet and the Duke. I was a bit "ho hum" about episode 4, since I didn't really care about Ivy's romance problems, and William wasn't around for a second episode in a row. Just a lot of weird narrative choices made in this episode, so I kinda shrugged at the end. Hopefully the next episode will be an improvement!

Here's a nice bit of Ashido Mina fan art again. I'm always happy to stumble across art of this lovely character, especially really colorful stuff like this.

I had a chance to listen to one episode of Braving the Elements. This one was a recap episode of "Appa's Lost Days" and the guest for the podcast episode was Evanna Lynch. I think her voice is always extremely soothing to listen to (she also joined in for a recap episode during season one, previously). Evanna talks about some of her animal activism work, which was really interesting, but might be a bit tough to listen to if you don't want to hear a few upsetting stories about animal abuse. Overall, I thought it was really informative though!

Once again, Power Rangers in Space continues to consume most of my free time. I'm more than halfway through the series now! Some highlights from the episodes I watched this week:
☆ The episode where Adam Park (played by Johnny Yong Bosch) inexplicably appears. I was, of course, mostly just distracted by his curly hair for half the episode.
☆ Carlos got sorta blackmailed into riding a merry-go-round with someone... again. If I had a dollar for every time this happened, I'd have $2, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it's happened twice!!
☆ I got to the Psycho Rangers arc 😈 (the best arc)

I'm honestly going to write so many "missing scene" fics for this series when I'm done watching!

Lastly, my Saturday was spent making the trek to Raleigh with my brother to go to NC State's basketball game. My first game I've attended since before the pandemic!

So, here's a little backstory. My dad attended college at NC State in the early 80s, and he was on the cheerleading squad at the time. In 1983, the men's basketball team had a spectacular underdog season that culminated in winning the national championship. Pops was there on the sidelines the whole time cheering them on of course! It's one of his favorite things to talk about lol. Anyway, this year is the 40th (!!) anniversary since the championship, and so the cheerleaders were all getting together for a reunion at this particular game. Mom and Pops had planned months ago to attend the game and all the reunion events. But, not to get too detailed, Pops is still recovering from major surgery and isn't able to get out and about much yet. Including sitting in a large arena for a basketball game.

So instead, my brother and I attended in their place. We even got t-shirts and free food 😅 it was a lot of fun to meet several of Pops' old college friends, some of whom shared a few fun college stories with us.

Also, NC State won the game 😁 maybe the section of former cheerleaders in the stands gave them a little extra boost 😉

That's it for this weekly summary! My work schedule this coming week is even worse than last week, and I'm exhausted just thinking about it. But after this week, I'll be done with our magazine project hopefully and will finally be able to rest. A little at least.

Wishing everyone a nice week!! Let's make it through
