Weekly summary: Mar. 8 - Mar. 14, 2026
Mar. 15th, 2026 09:14 amMy brain has felt like it's been full of static since Thursday. So I have not been doing very much lately. Generally feeling like I just wanna disappear into the woods, maybe hang out in a dark cave, for a while 😅
This feeling will pass, but the wait is annoying.
So anyway, here's a few things from earlier in the week when I was feeling better:
Fic stuff!
Still in the process of trying to whittle down all the tabs I have open. So I'm trying to read more fics! Here are some recs:
I got through a bunch of Starfleet Academy fics centered around episode 6 and featured the war college characters. I liked this one about how the war college trio became friends. Also enjoyed this Jay-Den/Kyle fic set after episode 6 (content note for panic attack and grief). And this is not usually the kind of fic I read, but I also liked this B'avi character study (content note for character death and major episode 6 spoilers).
I also read a few more fics from this year's Candy Hearts exchange: here's an Elementary fic where Sherlock bakes Joan a cake. Here's a pre-canon FMAB fic where Riza meets Olivier. And here's a DS9 fic where Kira helps Sisko decide on a birthday present for Jake.
I also managed to write a little ficlet for a new Thai GL (Girl Rules) that just started airing. I posted it here for
femslashfete and then crossposted to ao3 here.

The Friday Five questions this week were magic-themed so I enjoyed answering them here.
I wish my brain was cooperating more because I wanted to comment on a couple of other people's posts, but then I didn't 😩
And, of course, I posted my weekly tv reviews here. I'm glad I wrote most of them before Thursday. Otherwise, I'm not sure I would have finished this week.

And lastly, offline life. The first half of the week was really nice! The weather was lovely and I even had a chance to eat dinner on my porch twice.
Then I had a flat tire on Thursday and it stressed me out so bad 😠It's taken care of now (I had to buy a new tire actually ðŸ˜) but I think that's what got my brain so out of sorts.
Well, there are some other things giving me stress right now too, but I don't wanna talk about them. It'll pass, as it always does.
Thursday was actually just a crazy day in general. The temperature dropped roughly 50 degrees (Fahrenheit) during the day, so we went from summer weather in the morning to winter weather in the evening. (No, literally, we had snow flurries that afternoon.) The wind was so crazy as the temps dropped. My coworker was out getting lunch, and the wind caught the restaurant door so hard that it shattered everywhere 😬 she was fine, thankfully, but mildly traumatized! I would have been too.
We're supposed to have another crazy temperature drop tomorrow, and a good chance of severe weather, so I'm not looking forward to that.
What I am looking forward to is basketball! Today's Selection Sunday for the NCAA tournament, so I'm planning to hang out with my brother this evening to watch. Tournament time is always exciting.
Anyway, I think I've rambled enough. I spent too much of yesterday sleeping, so I'm gonna try to get things done today instead. Wishing everyone a nice week ahead!
