This past week was jam-packed with a lot of stuff! (No literal jam, unfortunately, though that would have been nice)

Let's jump right in!

The plot of Ousasa is zooming right along. Episode five ended with Tougou and Ayaka fighting, and it takes all of ten minutes into episode six before Tougou decides he wants to apologize! By the end of the episode, Ayaka has her job back and the two of them agree that they'd like to genuinely be husband and wife instead of their current sham marriage. What are they gonna do for the last four episodes??

Well, there's still Kamiyami around causing problems (at the behest of Tougou's mom). So I'm sure there will be more hurdles to overcome before the end!

Music news:

HSJ released the "youtube version" (basically a shortened version) of the other song on their upcoming double a-side single release: Uraomote. This too was a theme song for a drama that Yamada starred in, but that's already finished airing. I sorta suspect the CGI for this video took too long, that they just decided to bundle this with the next single instead of releasing it as a standalone.

Anyway, I really enjoy the song! It's the kind of catchy dance tune I wish hsj would do more often. The video is cool too, with the rest of the group acting as Yamada's separate personalities. I'll be thinking a long time about Yuto's character being the murderous one...

Nemophilia is back this week with another song from their upcoming album! Night Flight didn't grab my attention as much (probably because of the lack of rougher vocals) but the song wasn't bad at all! Just not what I was expecting.

Lastly, Versailles is releasing a new single in the year of our lord 2023!!!!! It's been 11 years since the last one!! The full version isn't out yet, but they shared a little teaser. I'm just so excited! Versailles was one of my favorite Visual Kei bands back when I was in high school, so they always make me feel nostalgic in a good way.

Next, a little gardening update: things are still looking good so far! (Still no eggplant though, I've given up). Mom and I added a little bit of fertilizer this week, and I think that's helped! Hopefully I'll start seeing some flowers on the plants soon.

Now, onto fic stuff. All of my fic recs are really short this time lol

This sweet momojirou fic by Meg is so adorable 🥰

Seasons Of Drabbles had fic reveals this week and I was gifted four fics!!! Please check them all out

☆ Stewardship (Stargate SG-1, Gen. Hammond-centric, introspection)

☆ White Jade (Avatar: The Last Airbender, Zuko/Blue Spirit, Zuko/undisclosed person, revenge, angst) (I've been thinking about this one nonstop since I read it)

☆ a moment of quiet (Avatar: The Last Airbender, Zuko-centric, introspection)

☆ Ten Years of Bad Luck, Or Something (My Hero Academia, Shinsou/Ochako, very cute)

Author reveals aren't until Monday, so I won't get to share what I wrote until next week's summary. But I'm excited to share!! I'm really proud of everything I wrote!

This doesn't really belong in a specific category, but this translation of Takaki and Daiki from a recent episode of their radio show was really funny to me. They let Takaki be on the radio multiple times a week for the last decade and he still says stuff like this 😂 (I miss having access to listening to their radio shows myself. Always pretty entertaining!)

Lastly, the best part of the week was my yearly trip to Animazement! It started off purely as an anime convention in the 90s, but has really focused a lot in recent years on Japanese culture too, so that adds a lot of cool stuff to explore each year. This was my 13th year attending! Just Saturday only this time, but maybe I'll get to go all weekend next year.

Some highlights: getting to go to a performance by a professional biwa player (she started off in Demon Slayer cosplay which was really funny); learning more about Kamen Rider (seriously, I need to start watching that soon); getting Sakamichi no Apollon on DVD (it's a lovely little anime and friendship and jazz); and learning how to do some bon odori festival dances (I love dancing and the moves were simple and fun).

Overall, it was a great time as usual! Even though it was rainy, it didn't dampen my spirits 😅

Wishing everyone a spectacular week ahead!
