June '24 writing goals
Jun. 1st, 2024 12:36 pmBack again for another installment of "Holly sets goals and then mostly ignores them" 😂 Okay, I'm exaggerating, but after months of this, I realize I really just write whatever I want.
Nevertheless, I still enjoy making these posts anyway. So here we go~
May's post is here
Let's check in on how successful I was with last months goals.
Okay, actually not too terrible!
1) start a Kurama-centric fic
Success! (Sorta) I didn't actually do any writing on this, but I did come up with a title and figure out how I wanted to structure the story I've been thinking about. That's not a lot, but it's definitely helpful for me to move forward on it
2) work on an angstshipping fic
Failure! I've been reading a ton of YGO fic lately, but not feeling inspired to write any at the moment. Oh well!
3) start of the rest of my hanami project fics
...I don't know how to judge this one 😅 I made an executive decision to just go with what I had already finished and save the rest of the ideas for next year. So I posted the four fics I did have! (I guess that counts as a success)
4) Megaranger drabble
Failure! This one was totally achievable but I spent too long being indecisive about which POV I wanted to write, and whoops, now the whole month has passed by. I should probably rewatch a few episodes for inspiration next month
5) start on my
intoabar fic
Success! I've brainstormed, come up with a title, brainstormed some more, decided on the perfect ending, and then actually wrote three paragraphs. That counts!!
6) write another 23.5 fic
Success! I had fun writing another little fluff fic earlier this month. Truly, it's so nice to write for a decently active fandom again. Idk how it'll be now that the show's over, but it was nice for that brief time at least.
So, overall, not too bad! Maybe not as much progress as I'd been hoping for, but it wasn't a resounding failure overall 🥳
Now for some June goals:
1) finish my intoabar fic
It's due June 23, and I plan to write a lot of it this week, so I think this a pretty easy goal
2) write a drabble (or double drabble, etc)
Keeping it vague because I think vague goals are a little easier for me to actually do without too much pressure. (So if this drabble ends up being for Toku100, then that's great 😁)
3) write more for
femslashfete
I've really been enjoying the weekly prompts from this community! I just like having an excuse to try writing more wlw ships I'm interested in
4) work on some WIPs
Nothing specific! Just gonna scroll through and see what catches my eye again. Even a few sentences will count as progress
5) write a sulemio fic
There's a sulemio week upcoming on Twitter, and I'd love to write just one thing for it. This is probably the hardest goal on this month's list, because my ideas right now are scarce, but I'm gonna try anyway!
I hope I have enough motivation to work on all these goals this month. To be honest, I have put a timer on my Twitter app, which has helped cut down on distractions while I'm writing. So I'm feeling a bit more productive recently even though I'm still hopping to a different idea almost every day. We'll see how it goes!
