Weekly summary: Mar. 15 - Mar. 21, 2026
Mar. 22nd, 2026 09:45 amAnother week down. March is flying by.
Fic stuff:
The fic recs are very Trek-heavy this week 😅 that was not intentional but it is kinda funny to me.
Here's a nice Jay-Den/Darem whump fic from Starfleet Academy, and then here's a good sickfic for the same ship. And here's a little Lura/Jett fic.
I also wanna rec this this Voyager/TNG crossover where Seven meets Guinan, and this Voyager fic featuring B'Elanna and Harry.
I haven't been able to do much writing lately (though I'm poking at something for shiritori right now). But I did get my Girls Remix exchange assignment, and I'm excited about it! I matched on more than one fandom though so I'm currently being indecisive on what to write.

Music stuff!
I somehow missed this back in November when it was released, but here's a new(ish) song from Nemophilia: 開花宣言
Also, I'm obsessed with the new opening credits for Kamen Rider Zeztz, and luckily it's been officially uploaded to YouTube: Playback by Yuta
I stumbled across a new concert video from TMR: Boarding. Not my favorite song from him but it's not bad.
And... it's apparently been 20(?!) years since Kat-tun released their debut single "Real Face." I haven't cared about this band in over a decade, but I rewatched a clip from the music video on Twitter and was like "they don't put superfluous feathers/fur on costumes now like they used to." But then, I happened to see that they uploaded this version of Real Face from their final concert and actually, I guess they DO still add superfluous feathers/fur to their costumes 😂

TV stuff!
This interview teases some stuff about season 2 of Starfleet Academy. I already miss having a weekly episode of Trek to look forward to. The wait for season 2 is gonna be so long!
Some sad Ultraman news this week: Ultraman Connection announced that they are shutting down their website at the end of the month. I wasn't around for their heyday, but enjoyed visiting the site for news and reviews, so I'll miss it. Plus, without them, we never would have gotten official translations of Shu's diary entries that went along with Ultraman Arc. I'm grateful for that.
As usual, my weekly TV reviews are here.
I also stumbled across The Librarians while flipping channels on my TV the other day, so I'm gonna try to catch some more episodes in the future. It seems fun! I do love just randomly jumping into the middle of the series 😅 Thankfully it doesn't seem too complicated to follow. Has anyone else seen this show?

Lastly, offline life... It started off as a stressful week, but mostly calmed down by the end. I've been in a melancholy mood, but I feel like I'm finally coming out of it now. I hope to actually comment on people's posts here this week!! (Instead of just thinking about commenting lol)
On Tuesday, I went to a ribbon cutting for a new business. It's a giftshop featuring stuff made by local artists, and they're gonna host art/craft classes eventually too. So I think that's neat. It'll be a nice new place to buy presents this year.
The college basketball tournament started this week. The NC State men's team immediately disappointed me by losing their first game 😩 But the women's team won theirs on Friday! They play again this afternoon, so I'm looking forward to that. (Even though they're facing a really tough opponent.) I've absolutely loved being able to listen to the radio broadcasts this season. I'm gonna miss it in the off-season.
And yesterday, as part of my attempt to get out of the house more for non-work things, I went to the local youth theater performance of "To Kill a Mockingbird." They did such a great job! I enjoyed it. The group generally does three or four different shows a year, but I missed the last two because, coincidentally, I was sick both of those weekends. So I'm glad I was able to make this one.
And... that's it, I suppose. Wishing everyone a lovely week ahead!
