Weekly summary: Mar. 22 - Mar. 28, 2026
Mar. 29th, 2026 08:02 pmGot a weird hodge-podge of stuff for this week's summary. Let's just get to it.
TV stuff!
Devastating (to me) news that Starfleet Academy has been canceled. We're still (allegedly) getting season 2 because it's already been filmed, but that's apparently it. (Which sucks because I heard it ends on a cliffhanger) I've been mad over this all week, mostly for the way Paramount didn't promo the series well and didn't give it time to pick up new viewers now that season one is done. I don't have anything else to say other than I'm less inclined to engage with any future Star Trek stuff from Paramount now. I'll just enjoy what already exists and continue having fun with fanfic.
Now, in better news, there's a new comm for Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters fans:
ygofandm I'm excited about it! This might get me to finally do a (long overdue) rewatch of the series.
I realized this week that it's been a year since I watched "If It's With You" which remains my favorite Japanese BL so far. So I figured I'd link my (spoiler-free) review again. Y'all should watch it! It's really cute ๐ฅฐ
TsuPro did a lot of fun stuff this week (mostly silly stuff with Zetton), but they also released a very brief teaser trailer for this year's Ultraman series. By "brief" I mean it's literally just a glimpse at the suit. But it's neat! Looks like he's a blue ultra this time.
(Ultraman and Star Trek are both celebrating their 60th anniversary this year, but TsuPro is doing a much better job than Paramount. Yes, I'm bitter.)
Also getting a teaser trailer this week was The Ghost in the Shell, which is a new anime adaptation of the original manga. It's gonna be on Amazon Prime, so I'm not gonna get to watch it, but I do love the style they went for here. I hear it's closer to the manga style, but I haven't read it.
And lastly, my regular weekly tv reviews are here.

Music stuff!
A new song from Trident: ใกใคใใใณใปใค. It's very catchy! (It's been stuck in my head the whole time as I write this post actually)
And Flow was on The First Take to sing Colors (the opening from Code Geass)
***
Fic stuff!
Writing has been a struggle this week, so I haven't gotten much done even though I really want to. This week will hopefully be better.
I did manage to write a very tiny YYH snippet for
writetomyheart. It may be the beginning of a longer Hiei-centric fic. I've got an idea rolling around at least.
I also think I've finally decided on an idea for my Girls Remix exchange assignment! Now I just gotta write it. I'm planning to start this week.
And speaking of exchanges,
seasonsofdrabbles is open for nominations now, and signups open next week I think. I skipped signing up last round, but maybe I'll do this one.

I made a post of goals for the year that I wanna try to accomplish. I mostly made this post because I like giving myself to-do lists ๐

Nobody here cares about my basketball rambling but my team had some weird news this week, so I'm gonna talk about it anyway ๐ The men's basketball coach jumped ship on Thursday to head back to the university he was fired(!!) from a few years ago.
I hated this guy so I'm honestly thrilled. He seemed like a jerk when NC State first hired him a year ago, but everyone else seemed to love him. But now I feel vindicated, because his departure comes after he's spent weeks intentionally lying about staying with the team (a jerk move) and he resigned via email (a cowardly jerk move).
Good riddance! I hope my team hires someone decent this time.
I have a separate post I wanna make about radio broadcast observations now that the season is over. So maybe I'll type that up this week?
***
As for offline life, I got nothing exciting to share. The melancholy remains persistent (this seems to happen every spring) but I'm continuing to push through it. It'll go away eventually.
So that's it. Wishing everyone a good week ahead!
