This week: Nightmare fight club on Zeztz! And a friends-with-benefits situation develops on Girl Rules.

Title quote is from Girl Rules again this week because I forgot to write down any of the Zeztz quotes.

Spoilers, as always, below.

Kamen Rider Zeztz (episode 27)

A new antagonist walks into the scene to shake things up!

Kamen Rider Dawn, aka Sieg, is a lot of fun to add so that we're not rehashing everything from the first half of the series. He's an interesting rogue element, attacking everyone and throwing Nightmares into the mix. (The Nightmare fight club was hilarious to me. I loved that 😂) I'm excited to learn more about him soon, and why he's so unhinged. (Sidenote: his iron maiden finisher... also amazingly funny. What a character!)

I'm starting to get kinda worried about Minami though. Her cat necklace that she's been wearing since the first episode gets a lot of focus in this episode, and it feels like foreshadowing for something. (Especially with the cat eyes and cat in the new opening credits too.) I can't figure out what that something is yet, but I don't think it's anything good. Either way, it's another mystery to keep me invested in the story.

Halfway through the series and Zeztz really has been a lot of fun so far. I hope it continues!

Girl Rules (episode 3)

I continue to really enjoy Girl Rules, even if there's not a lot of substance to the plot. It's all about the relationship drama. And this week, those relationships all had a chance to move forward.

Shasha and Gorya continue to be the most interesting to me. We get a brief flashback to the first time Shasha saw Gorya, and in it, the stylist is berating a rude director. Shasha is impressed. This little scene gives some context to why Shasha is so insistent on pursuing Gorya. It's too bad that her methods consist of "make Gorya mad all the time." 😂 But luckily for Shasha, Goyra is brokenhearted enough over Prim to insist on a one-night stand, and then a "friends with benefits" arrangement. I'm really interested in how this develops as we go. It's gonna be a rocky road.

Min and Praew are the sweetest of the couples so far. Min agrees to a photoshoot, and they have a few heart-to-hearts. She's still dealing with the emotions of ending things with her jerk ex-boyfriend, and so I'm not sure kissing Praew is the best decision for her. But I sure am interested to see the aftermath of that later! Min's always thought of herself as straight, so she's gonna have to figure some things out eventually, and I'm excited to see that.

Prim and Bambi remain the least interesting to me right now, simply because the show hasn't filled in their backstories very much yet. So I just don't understand their dynamic yet. (Also, Bambi reminds me of someone I know irl who is really annoying, so I can't find her selfish brat shtick very cute.) There's a brief hint of something relating to Bambi's past though in this episode, so I hope they'll follow up on that soon.
