Weekly summary: Jan. 28 - Feb. 3, 2024

Another long and exhausting week, but I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel for the work project! Then I'll be back on track to enjoying all the things again! (Although this past week wasn't too bad)

Episode four of Miss Scarlet and the Duke was both entertaining and frustrating! Patrick Nash was back, so it was fun to see him and Eliza team up while William was still out of commission. But then, William makes a decision at the end of the episode that made me want to shake him by the shoulders and yell "you idiot!" (My mother was so disappointed by the end of the episode, she called me immediately to complain about it 😂). Anyway, two episodes left to go, so I'm very interested to see how they resolve this latest plot twist.

Reading & writing stuff!

One fic rec: this extremely good One Piece live action fic focused on Zoro and Sanji (it's a romance but it's also a character study)

I also recommend checking out the most recent round of seasonsofdrabbles which had fic reveals yesterday. The collection is here. I managed to write one little last minute treat, so I'll share that next week!

And speaking of writing, I put together my monthly writing goals post. And I'm pleased to say I'm already making some progress on them because...

...I've been writing some stuff for halfamoon! This has been a fun challenge so far. Yesterday, I posted a little ficlet about B'Elanna Torres from Star Trek Voyager.

Also, signal boosting: Planet BNHA exchange which is open for sign-ups until Feb 7. I'm probably not going to sign up this time, but I'm definitely going to try to write a treat or two! The theme for this round is all Alternate Universes!

Speaking of bnha, I posted over at bnha_fans some news about the upcoming new movie. I think "You're Next" is kinda a silly title, but I'm interested in learning movie about the movie's plot!

Music stuff! A lot of the usual bands this week.

HSJ's weekly video was Funky Time, a b-side from one of their singles a few years ago (2018 maybe? Keito was still there). I like this video because it's a rare one where they actually got to film outside of a boring soundstage. Their best videos are when they just turn on the camera and let the guys do whatever they want for an hour 😂

Trident is back with Bite the Bullet which is a nice song but the music video needed better lighting!

Another concert performance from Nemophilia: Raitei. As always, I'm in love with the guitar solos 😍

Lastly, Kanjani8 has changed their band name now to "Super Eight" ...😂

Listen, I don't mind that they wanted to change their name to get rid of the "jani" (johnny) part, but... like, they haven't had eight members in this group since like 2005?? And also... now they unintentionally share a name with an American hotel chain 😂

Anyway, I'll update the tag for them eventually

Nobody cares about basketball but me, but I'm gonna talk about my favorite teams anyway 😁 (both of these are Twitter links unfortunately)
