Weekly summary: May 19 - May 25, 2024
Another busy week but it ended on the best note 🥰 so I can't complain. Here are the usual summary stuff:
My brain continues to be fixated on YGO fic right now, so that's the only recs I have this time:
☆ a very sweet Ishizu/Anzu fic. I've never read this ship before but I like the idea of it
☆ an interesting post-canon fic with Ryou & Yami Bakura. Mind the tags
☆ a character study about Mrs. Ishtar. I love finding little fics like this written about extremely minor characters.
Not a fic rec, but I'm still in the midst of my Howl's Moving Castle reread and it's so delightful. I'd forgotten just how funny this book is 😁 I love overdramatic Howl! And I love that Sophie keeps calling him a "slitherer-outer" which is a ridiculous insult I think we all should start using more 😂

Just HSJ's weekly video, which was lucky unlucky which I feel kinda lukewarm about, both for the song and the video. Oh well.

intoabar! This year I'll have Hiei (from YYH) meeting Katara (from ATLA). I was kinda hoping for a match that would be really funny, but I'm not sure Katara's gonna work for that. But nevertheless, I'll have fun anyway! I've already plotted out some ideas
The only other thing I wrote was this flirty little ficlet about Chapel/Ortegas from Star Trek Strange New Worlds forfemslashfete. I'll crosspost it to ao3 eventually.
I'm having quite a lot of fun with the weekly prompts from that community, so I'll definitely be writing more in the future! It's giving me an excuse to write more wlw ships

Speaking of ladies, 23.5 wrapped up this week! It was very sweet but now I'm sad it's over 😭 but the ending was very satisfying, which is all I really ask for in a series. And it's on YouTube so I can rewatch as much as I want 😁
If I get to rewatch soon, I might write up a full review for the series

A brief garden update: things are growing!! Now that the plants have started blooming, the little veggies are starting to appear. I'll hopefully have some eggplant to pick soon. Maybe bell peppers too.
I do have one pepper plant and one tomato plant that look like they're struggling a bit, but I'm not sure what's happening. So all I can do is keep a check on them and hope for the best

Lastly, my annual trip to Animazement was Saturday! Other than the travel nightmare getting there, I had a ton of fun! I mostly went to a lot of the music panels, and I made an impulse buy in the dealers room (Gundam IBO season one on dvd!!)
I plan to write a detailed recap this week. (Probably not today because I'm exhausted lol) Not sure anyone else will be interested in reading it, but I remember things better when I write them down (...hence these summary posts each week)
Anyway, that's all I've got. Hopefully I'll have a chance to keep up with my reading list here on Dreamwidth this week 😅
