Weekly summary: Apr. 14 - Apr. 20, 2024
I made it through another stressful week, and now I think my schedule is finally back to normal 🤞 I have celebrated this weekend by buying a milkshake I didn't need 😂 and now I'm enjoying the sound of a nice light rain on this Sunday afternoon.
Onto the summary!
I read a grand total of one fic this week, but it was good enough that I wanna rec it! This is a sweet YGO fic featuring Kaiba/Jou
As for writing, I've been working on some treats for Seasons Of Drabbles. Sometimes it's really just nice to hyperfocus on a couple hundred words. Last night, I had to chop 63 words from a triple drabble, and it was fun to figure out the best ways to trim and reword things.
I'm also still poking at the fics for my hanami fic project. But I'm going so slow, I think I might have to start posting some instead of waiting until all of them are complete. Otherwise, it'll be late summer before I get to share any of these spring fics 😂

Music stuff!
HSJ's video was a concert remix version of Mayonaka no Shadow Boy. This remix is a lot of fun, but I'm still lamenting that they'll never give us the music video on YouTube ðŸ˜
Gacharic Spin also shared a concert version of one of their songs this week: Kachi Kachi Yama. Really fun to see Hana and Yuri switching drum duties during the middle of the song.
Queen Bee has a new song out, and it reminds me of some of their older stuff. Anyway, the music video for Super Memorial looks like they all had a blast filming it!
In sad music news, the bassist from the Gazette passed away recently. Tragic 😠I listened to a bunch of my favorite songs by the Gazette this week in Reita's memory.

As usual, I watched the new episode of 23.5 on Friday, and really enjoyed this one! It was pure lighthearted fluff from start to finish, which was a nice break from the angst from the past two previous episodes.
Is this an award-winning caliber show? No! But it IS utterly delightful. I will be writing more fic for this series in the future!
I also learned that the Shin Ultraman movie is on YouTube now (at least for viewers in the US), so I watched it this morning. It was the English dub version and none of the onscreen Japanese text was translated, but I enjoyed the movie anyway.
Ultraman is on my (long) list of things to check out sometime, so this was a nice little preview for me, I suppose. The pacing of the film felt a bit rushed, but it was still easy to follow. And I know pretty much zero Ultraman lore, but I didn't have any trouble following the story.
Plus, it is just always funny to me when I stumble across something that features a member of hsj. Arioka Daiki played the scientist! (I swear, he must have the best manager because he somehow pops up in a lot of stuff)
Anyway, now I'm getting a bit sleepy listening to the rain, so I'm wrapping up this summary. Wishing everyone a super fantastic week ahead!
